1  Eye Seed bead embroidery barrette/hair clip in Beads: Completed Projects by the_trademarks on: December 05, 2019 12:40:02 PM
I haven't posted in ages, but this is my first ever attempt at bead embroidery. The center is actually an eye for a stuffed animal, as I did not want to use a stone cabochon because I did not know if it would come out. I used Miyuki 11/0 seed beads and delicas.

Let me know what you think!

2  Peyote stitch CAT Cameo! in Beads: Completed Projects by the_trademarks on: May 02, 2017 08:21:46 PM
I made this using a resin cameo, 11/0 Miyuki delica beads and 15/0 Toho seed beads. The sides are a striped pattern with silver and hematite colored delicas, but I am not sure if my phone camera picked it up.

I have been making these peyote stitched cabochons lately. This one is a dichroic glass cab my mother made years ago. I used 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads by Toho and Miyuki.

5  Sun print paper prints in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by the_trademarks on: June 16, 2016 07:39:00 PM
Here are some prints I have been working on. Each was printed on 5 x 7 inch Nature Prints Sun Print paper. Exposure time was around 6 minutes each. I used digital images taken on the black and white setting then inverted the colors to create negative images prior to printing them on copier paper on my home inkjet printer then placing that face down over the sun paper. I have only made about five so these are my top three.

Thoughts and comments are always welcome. Also if anyone knows if these will fade I would love to know. Thanks!

6  Kidrobot Trikky Custom Drip Cat Toy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by the_trademarks on: February 05, 2016 08:05:18 PM
I made this little guy using alcohol ink and paint pen. Pretty basic design, but I like the way it came out. I have never used alcohol ink on vinyl before so that was a learning process. It takes a bit longer than expected to dry, but other than that it went well.

7  Patron Saint of the NY Mets Candle in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by the_trademarks on: February 05, 2016 07:06:08 PM

I made this candle for a Mets obsessed friend using a photo editing software, decoupage, and a blank candle I found at Dollar Tree. The border is washi tape. Once I had the image complete I printed it out and used it like a giant label. Let me know what you think!

Also, for those who are unfamiliar with the Mets the head is from their mascot Mr. Met.

9  My Little 'Zilla - My Little Pony custom in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by the_trademarks on: January 18, 2013 06:55:05 PM
I made this a while back for a custom toy show. It is from a white blank My Little Pony. I pulled the mane and tail and used a wire support for the tail. I sculpted directly on the pony using sculpey. A common technique to "baking" the clay on the figures is to boil the entire pony to harden the clay. This worked well. After some light sanding to blend any seems, I airbrushed the base green and did the details by hand. I used acrylic paint.

Painting in progress.

During the sculpt process.

In case anyone's interested I included the links to two of my past custom toy projects.

10  $9 Ice Angry Bird costume in Halloween Costumes by the_trademarks on: January 18, 2013 11:41:33 AM
My son is getting older and every year I hunt for the perfect Halloween costume for him. However, I have learned that spending too much on a costume he will only wear once is illogical. This year I decided to do Halloween on a budget. To my delight this costume cost around nine dollars. I also have an adequate amount of felt left over.

Felt 4.90
Thread 2.97
Fleece 1.50

Total 9.37

The body is felt. The hat is fleece. The face was free hand cut going off of a picture online and sewn on with coordinating thread using a walking foot. This took about 2 hours from start to finish.

My apologies for the picture quality, it is a cell phone pic.
