1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 18th Birthday "Girly Skulls" Party...need help on: May 23, 2011 02:58:11 AM
We are giving a party for my daughters 18th Birthday in July. She has chosen "Girly Skulls" as her 'theme', we have an image for the cake, and the invites made, colors are Hot Pink, Black & White. Other than that I am stumped. lol

We were thinking maybe a pasta dish with garlic bread, some pizzas & salad & of course cake & ice cream. But I am willing to change this if any ideas I like better! lol I can keep foods hot in crock pots on the serving table, but cant keep cold foods cold at the table, would have to store those in fridge in kitchen.

We have rented a medium sized bldg for the party, she is planning to have a DJ & dancing if they wanna. There is a full kitchen on site.

Thats about as far as we have made any plans.
Please give me ANY ideas you got!!!!
Thanks all!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / 17 yr olds Easter gifts?? on: March 23, 2011 01:09:35 AM
Although my daughter is now 17 & doesnt believe in the Easter bunny (and hasnt for quite awhile) I still like to do up a 'basket' for her. But this year I am kinda stumped, what to give a 17 year old in a basket other than some chocolate (that none of us need LOL)
She is into :
her Ipod & cell phone (texting)
loves music
Spongebob Squarepants (ugh)
television & movies
favorite color is green

I was thinking the possibility of using a new purse as the 'basket' & filling it with stuff, would that be ok to do or TOO non traditional??

Lots of great ideas, love the layout, and I LOVE that marzipan bunny! How did you make him?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Re: Bunny Butt!! LOL on: March 15, 2011 11:02:21 PM
Thanks guys, he is really easy to make, just a styrofoam ball, same size as pot top, needs to fit in half way or so. stretch out some cotton balls & fluff em up a bit & glue to half the ball (I went slightly over half) fluff 3-4 & pull together for tail & glue on butt, a lot of these are made with fun foam feet, but I just stretched a couple cotton balls & shaped em into feet, (to make em look more real) then added circles cut from fun foam for paw pads. stick some flowers & leaves around him & he is done! Really fast & easy!

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Need Valentine help!! on: January 11, 2011 06:29:47 AM
Have been with my Hubby almost 7 years now, married for 4 of it. I always make a big deal out of V-Day every year & he loves it. But I am running out of ideas here, so am looking for some new ones. They have to be easy ones tho, I aint that crafty! LOL

I have done most of the lil things you find online in searches, have done CDs of love songs, have done a candy bouquet (this was a hit tho, so may do again)  love coupons (every year) always do sexy boxers & a funny Tshirt. He isnt much into sweets, but loves home cooked food (steaks are on this years menu) last year was lasagna.

He doesnt like any sports, isnt into video games, loves the computer & tinkering with them.

We are thinking about doing some traveling this summer, museums, Amish country, things like that, but cant come up with anything along those lines. I did buy him a GPS for Christmas tho if anyone has any ideas there? (Already has a case & warranty LOL)

Thanks for any ideas you guys can give!!!

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: anti-v-day decorations on: February 10, 2009 02:34:09 AM
I love Valentines Day...but I also love your wreath & the flowers are totally awesome!!  Your party will sure to be a hit with decorations like that!!

What kind of foods are you serving?  Are they as out there as the decorations?

Maybe do a "Death of St. Valentine" theme! LOL
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: I'm planning Valentine's Day This Year... Ideas? on: January 10, 2009 02:13:56 AM
How about a theme from gone with the wind or sleepless in Seattle or something like that.  There are millions of lovie dovie movies to choose from.....or just a romantic night at the theater (set up in your living room)

Or night at the spa, you could treat him to a full body massage in candlelight, slow & sensual with oils and all. Feed him grapes the whole nine yards. LOL
