I made this cushion last year and thought I'd link the pattern. The pattern is for the front panel only, I improvised the back and buttons myself........

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Thanks Vegbee for A Great Tutorial - I made a Peasant Top! on: August 11, 2007 02:02:11 PM
Thanks to Vegbee's generosity in doing a wonderful tutorial  Wink, I got to make a peasant top. No model though as she has yet to grow into it. I have learnt so much in doing this top. It's simple, yet it is definetly a foundation for some other projects I have in mind. Can't thank you enough Vegbee, hope you like it. Smiley

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / This is why, I love to sew!!!!!!! *Pic heavy* on: August 08, 2007 06:14:07 AM

I made this dress from looking at a tutorial online, at first I really struggled with shirring but thanks to some good links and also reading sewing for dummies I seemed to find a formula that worked. I cut the material different than was recommended so that the dress had more gather. I also made a headband which I think makes a lovely touch.

Can't wait to make more of these dresses for her, I just love this on her.

*Ignore dates as I actually took these pics today*

6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Shirring?????????????????????? on: August 05, 2007 09:39:03 AM
Hi Crafsters, Yesterday, I first attemted shirring a dress for my baby girl and I feel that it was too tight. I wound it round the bobbin by hand and set tension to minimum and stitch to 4 which is the highest my machine goes. I just can't get to grips with it, any advice would be greatly recieved?Huh

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Don't stop me now! on: August 05, 2007 09:26:47 AM
I made this by copying one of my favourite tops. I traced the outline of it and studied the parts without taking it apart, and I think for my second attempt I did well and I'm really pleased with it. The sleeves are gathered I don't think they show well in the pic. Wished I'd of had enough fabric to make it a tunic dress.

My confidence seems to be growing and when I see tops I like, I ask myself, could I make that? I can't wait to be really good at this, They'll be no stopping me then!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Finally finished my first PATTERN. on: July 30, 2007 07:59:18 AM

To cut a long story short, this pattern frustrated me, partly it was my first pattern, secondly there are flaws in this pattern probably the reason it was discontinued. After going round in circles with this one, I made some slight modafications, I made pockets in this dress as I think it needed something more. I altered the neck as there wasn't much room in the neckline originally, the material is quite thick like a denim but not too heavy. Overall, I learnt alot during this project and I gained some confidence too. Doesn't fit her yet as it is 2 year and probably won't fit her for another 6 mths yet.

Also thank you to those who gave advice

Hope you like - comments appreciated.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My very first Creation - from scratch, without a pattern on: July 30, 2007 06:27:37 AM
I took inspiration from this top, although mine is quite different.

I didn't have enough material width, so i elasticated the waist and it looks really good, especially on, and the sleeves i gave a miss just incase.

Sorry, to not have pics being worn. Next-time.

Hope you like
