1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / purple and red...great combination! on: February 25, 2013 10:46:26 AM
Hi there craftsters,

It has been a long time since my last visit here.
I really don`t know why....because this is the best site ever with all you nice and crafty people.
Anyway...today i showed some projects i posted on craftster in the past to someone who was interested,
and now i feel like sharing some new things i have done and i also can`t wait to see all the other great projects that you made.

Since my last visit here i moved twice, and here are the pics of my new livingroom and kitchen.

Starting with the kitchen:

I made the bottoms of my lampshades myself

And the kitchentable is made with a little help from my kids.
First i painted it purple, and then we all put stickers for a cool pattern.
Then painted it yellow(ish) and peel the stickers off.
My kids always show to everyone which flower/pattern they made.

Ok and here is my livingroom.

We want to make a new bookcase (a little bit industrial), the tv will be replaced by a flat model that we can hide behind the big painting. And we have to shuffle with some other furniture and  then it is finished.
I will post pics when it is totally ready, but i could not wait any longer ;-)
Let me know what you think of it.

Thank you!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Little girl grows big, my daughters room in progress on: March 15, 2011 10:50:31 AM
After the nice comments on my green diningroom https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=375574.0
i decided to share another room i am working on.
I have to finish the molding to the ceiling and buy a new floor and then it is finished.
(oh and when i have the time someday i want to reupholster the blue chair)

My daughter loved her room before, but now she is 12 and needed a more grown up room.
She helped painting and decorating the room, she even bought a lot of the accessories and the lovely lamp from her birthdaymoney.

I made the desk myself by using an old cabinet, the legs are candleholders (because the normal legs were very expensive and these were even nicer)

the top of the desk is with wallpaper and glass on top of it.

on her table i made the pattern of the wallpaper in the corners.

And she had red blinds that were good, but in the wrong color...i decided to put some nice brown fabric with little blue and lightbrown stripes all over on the old blinds, and i reused them.

This is the before:

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / my green diningroom. (new pics + sort of tutorial for the side table on page 3) on: March 15, 2011 07:48:25 AM
I have almost finished my new diningroom (some little things left to do)
And i wanted to show it to you all!!!

I wanted a side table, but they were expensive.
So i started looking for an old table to cut in half and use for my project.
Unfortunately they all had the wrong size for me, so i decided to make one myself.
I bought 2 table legs and some wood and moldings and started.
The table legs were to short for the height i wanted, so i used PVC for the lowest part and painted the whole thing.

here is a before and after.
I hated the fireplace, but i did not have the money to build/buy myself a new one.
So when i saw the bricks were on sale i pimped it myself.
Some molding on top and finished

Friends gave me an old chair that i reupholstered.

I made a little table from an old clock a stool and a stocking

An old painting became a rosette, because there was a hole in the ceiling when i moved the lamp.

(i even pimped my old lamp)
painted all my furniture too.

Oh and i found a new picture from the shelf, i put the same wallpaper around it so the stripes continue. The frames were my old doorsteps, with some leftover fabric from my curtains inside.

Tell me what you think
4  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / carnival!!! on: March 07, 2011 11:09:00 AM
Hi there,

I am so proud on the carnival costumes i made for my kids.
My daughter wanted to be a cow, and my son wanted to be a banana.
As always i started too late (a week before they needed the costumes) but i finished them in time.
I didn`t have a pattern or a plan, just started to play with some foam and see what came out.
here are the pics, let me know what you think.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / wedding in 13 days on: June 06, 2008 09:45:22 AM
a friend of mine came to me 2 weeks ago, and asked me:
can you please please make a dress for my daughter because my stephmother is going to marry her new friend.
they planned it for over a couple of months, but her friend has cancer and not so long to live anymore, so they scheduled it this week.
i tought okay 2 weeks could be done, both of the weekends i was busy, but there were enough days left.
i told her it was too late to draw the pattern myself, so she had to buy a pattern.
it took a week to get the pattern Undecided, so i got 3 days left to sew.
with 3 kids around me, and lots of other things to do.
but i finished it on time yeahhhh.
here is the result.
its not the best pic, because i had to scan it from a pic she gave me.
the underskirt took me forever to make, because its full with tulle (you cant really see on the pic) but she could not find tulle with that width so i had to measure and cut it myself.
ok...enough with the blabla...here is a pic.

i made the dress on the left.

thanks for looking.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / black&blue skirt (NOW WITH TUTE ON PAGE 3) on: May 01, 2008 03:33:11 AM

i still have to iron the skirt, but i couldn`t wait to show you.
i think it turned out great, let me know what you think.
now i am gonna make her a shirt to match.

this is the original pic.
8  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 26 ENTRIES / what to do with giftpaper and ribbon (now with tute) on: April 01, 2008 08:54:27 AM
here is my entry.

i wanted to show you a hughe vase full with flowers, but the vase ended a bit small.
i tought 120 metre ribbon would be but no you need a whole lot when you wanna make a bigger one.
this is what i bought/used (+ extra package of ribbon)

then i started to wind op the ribbon..it took sooooooo long, and the damn thing exploded twice while i was ready, so i had to do it all over again.

then i made a vase of it and made some flowers from the giftwrappaper

sorry for the bad pics.
feel free to comment.
