A delicious combination Smiley
And you make your own flour and use a solar oven too. Lots of awesome in one post.

I hope this is still in time. I read the challenge when it was posted, was all excited about it and then promptly forgot all about it until the call for entries was posted. Then, of course, I couldn't find decent bananas anywhere.
Finally everything fell into place yesterday, so here's my recipe.
I came up with it when I had bananas that were almost too far gone, and needed to make something, but couldn't find one recipe that matched the ingredients I had at home. So, I combined ideas from different recipes, and when it turned out well, scribbled the recipe in my notes.

100gr butter (softened a bit)
1 cup sugar (I used light brown)
2 eggs
2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 bananas (or 2 very large ones, about 1 cup when mashed)
some chocolate chips (about 2 scoops, I just put enough to have a few in every muffin)

The ingredients gathered up:

1. preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (around 350F)
2. mix the butter and sugar
3. add the following one ingredient at a time: eggs, bananas, flour and baking powder, and finally the chocolate.
After the flour is added try to do as little mixing as possible, I always read to mix just until everything is combined to avoid having banana mini bricks instead of fluffy muffins.
The batter looks like this:

4. scoop about a spoon into lightly oiled muffin pans

5. place in oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until muffins have browned

6. Take out of pans and place on cooling rack (careful when taking them out of the pans, hot hot hot)

These are best eaten right after they have cooled, they have a lovely outer crust, but no one ever complained when eating them the day after I baked them. You can also prepare the batter the day before and then just scoop into the pans and pop into the oven for a quick treat to take to work (that's what I do, my coworkers love seeing me show up the bag I use to carry them).
I have pans that have 15 cups each, and they yield nice mini muffins that are about 2 or three bites. The recipe yields about 45 mini muffins, or 12 regular sized muffins.
The chocolate chips can be omitted or replaced with pecans, or anything else that you like to combine with bananas.

Now I'm off to bake another batch. (then I'll come back to drool over all the other yummies on this board)

Oh boy, more canned stuff. The spiced honey looks yummy, I should remember that for after September, there's lots of honey left over after the new year.
Always - the honey mustard sauce sounds delicious.
Sarah - cool tire covers, I'm wondering what would happen if I drove behind a car with the spirals cover...
smashu - working with siblings is fun, isn't it? I wish my crafting brother was closer, so we can do some cool stuff together.
SilverMoon - the month just started, and you are already mostly done with the challenge, way to go! I love the color of the gloves, and now you have me thinking about a beaded nyan cat  Cheesy
Jillybeans - cool bracelets. I saw them yesterday, when you posted them in the jewelry board, but couldn't comment (couldn't reach the keyboard due to sleeping baby). I wonder what it would look like with different colors for the different strands of the braid.
fantasticmio - that's a nice big batch of dishcloths, the last pic looks like a stack of colorful pancakes (or is that just me being hungry?)
trina - you made it through all that cooking, you're amazing. And you got everyone fed and happy, always a good thing Smiley

I think I managed to figure out my mini list for august:
1. enter current Craftster challenge - got the food made and pictures taken, need to write it all up and post
2. finish X WIPs from my craft boxes (need to take a look and see what's in the boxes, X will be a proper number tomorrow, I hope)
3. create a tutorial for one of the beaded chains I make
4. create new years cards to send by the end of the month
5. 5 more simple beaded necklaces for my nieces

Always - yay for the new challenge, I wonder what I can come up with for this month. I'm sure my nieces would like the the necklaces, they are my biggest fans when it comes to beads, always wanting to see what's in my project box.
Kookaloo - thank you, I made her myself  Tongue Great use for a pair of jeans, and a good idea to add a place for a water bottle. My husband also carries around a bunch of sticks, which martial art is he learning?
jillybean - lots of yummy-ness on your mini list Smiley
All this talk about canning is making me hungry.
cursive_queen - I love the colors of the first quilt
Smeddley - that's a lot of dice bags, you should make a bag of bags of dice to hold them all, or one big die, then you'll have a die of bags of dice (I think it's past my bedtime). The pony and crown are awesome, and I think it's great to have pony themed birthday and stuff, no matter how old you are. I also love the bird art you posted, you should totally count it.
redstar - just focus on getting better, and take a spoon-full of this thread on an ongoing basis.

I think I'll go to sleep now, maybe I'll dream up my list Smiley

I finally have something to post!
I've been reading this thread almost every day, there's always something awesome to see.
I haven't done much other than simple beading, mostly on the train on the way to work.
I just completed 4 beaded necklaces, I plan to make as many as I can before the Jewish new year, and offer them to my nieces. I need to find some cool charms (probably have some in my stash that is still boxed up) and let them choose which color necklace they want and which charm.

little necklace piles
one necklace with optional charm (I wear a similar one in dark blue and I love it)
our house model showing off the purple necklace (which now needs to be repaired, these necklaces aren't meant for toddlers)
Big red button ring

I've actually made three of these, all exactly the same, just different ring sizes. One for me, one for my coworker who loved the one on my hand, and an extra one because I got the sizing wrong when making the one for coworker.
heart ring

I made these in a few different colors, but gave most of them away before remembering I wanted photos. They went to the same coworker as the big button, we keep making each other jewelry stuff, it's fun Smiley
I probably need to update and maybe rethink some items on my list...

That's very nice Smiley
I like the fact that you can make each side with different colors, too.

that's really great for a first attempt. Once you get the first few rows, everything sort of falls into place, right?

that's pretty cool, like nature made a pendant for you to work with. I like the way you decorated it Smiley
