1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How to hang clouds from the ceiling on: March 28, 2010 12:54:04 PM
Wait..what? Clouds? From the ceiling?
Yes, that's right!

So lately I have been very interested in clouds hanging from the ceiling such as these
I figured out I could use cotton balls for tiny clouds and maybe pillow stuffing for larger clouds.
The thing is I might (e.g.) need several cotton balls for tiny clouds (one just won't do) and now I am stuck on how to keep the clouds together AND how to put them on the ceiling
Any suggestions Smiley?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / DIY bone folder? on: August 02, 2008 12:54:21 PM
Recently I've been to the hobby store in my town.
And they had all kinds of crafting knifes, but no bone folders.
For those who do not know what it is, a bone folder is a scoring tool.
And a thing I don't really like is that they ARE made out of bone, it just..I don't know, I don't want to work with a bone Embarrassed Undecided
So I have been thinking, what are the possibility's to make a ''bone'' (as I don't want it to be out of bone) folder myself?
Could I make it from wood, and how thick does it have to be?
I want to score paper, not destroy it Tongue
I'd like to know your thoughts or maybe even tutorials! (would be great)

P.S. And they also don't have mod podge here!!!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / A question about tulle on: March 02, 2008 12:31:29 PM
So, I want to make a no-sew tutu, but I stumbled on a thing that might be important.
When making a tutu, does it matter if I use rough tulle or do I have to use soft?
I hope you guys can help me out, I could make a friend of mine really happy with a tutu Cheesy
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Barrel clasps? on: November 29, 2007 06:25:15 AM
How do barrel clasps work?
Do you have to screw them together?
I want to know because these seem to be easy to complete a necklace or bracelet and aren't so pricey for as far as I have seen.
I thought of magnet clasps but they are quite expensive!
So..barrel clasps, are they easy to use?
Can you put your necklace/bracelet on easily?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Crafted with safety pins! (To bad I didn't sew it) on: November 22, 2007 12:22:25 PM
Well I crafted on my friend today (she did the same to me yesterday)
Yes, ON my friend.
Using 29 safetypins, and lots of layers of white and gold tulle and red satin fabric.
After about an hour of continiously tossing and turning (and getting very dizzy) I was done.
It couldn't be held apart though when taking of, it was to tight because else the fabric fell down.
And sewing was also not and option because I couldn't have get her out of there, she was pinned all around lol
The finished product:

I'm still very proud of it
It was lots of fun!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Finished my lolita beaded crown! on: July 17, 2007 01:23:56 PM
Yaay, I finished it Cheesy
Right on the moment my camera is dead.
But soon as the batteries are charged, I'll take pictures.
I'm in absolute love with my crown.
It didn't go the way I wanted at first.
I still had some pink, smooth (plastic I think) pearls.
So I went to the shop and buyed some more pearls, I thought they were bigger and they were shiney, also, those were glass pearls, -,3.56 for only 46 pearls!
I almost pulled my hair out.
Also, the wire, I buyed 0,25 mm (scared it wouldn't fit).
I was able to double it (my nails are ruined now..).
The wire was -,2.50.
Actually I was about -,0,65 short but my mom gave it to me.
So at home I discovered the pearls (smooth and shiney) were both the same size.
I was happy about it though.
After a while of beading I ruined it so I had to start over..
Then when I finished, I wasn't happy.
So I edited it.
The whole making took about..3/4 hours!
But the beauty (well I love it..) ..it's priceless.

Pictures to come!!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Request for a petticoat tutorial on: July 15, 2007 08:42:54 AM
First of all, let me introduce myself.
My name is Sarah and I'm a 14 years old dutch girl.
I'm being fascinated by EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita) for about a year and a halve now I suppose.
I'm am really new to crafting clothes.
My mom is very handy at it though, so she should be able to help me.
I've found this great tutorial here to make a clasic loli dress, I think I'm able to make that, since I have my mom to help too.
Thing is, I need a petticoat for under it.
But all the tutorials that I found here..those images are dead Cry.
So I was wondering if someone could make an tutorial as simple as possible (read: for a total craft n00b Undecided that hasn't made any clothes yet and thinks some terms are hard to understand..what do you expect, I'm dutch Tongue)
I'd be very very gratefull, because I really need a petticoat.
Please help me out Embarrassed
