1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to hang clouds from the ceiling on: March 29, 2010 06:03:16 AM
Sounds like a good start-off indeed Cheesy I'll try to show what I come up with (if I get it to work). More suggestions are always welcome, ofcourse Smiley

EDIT: Seems I'm not the only one who likes this. I found this topic on here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=331712.0 But I don't want to use wool Smiley But maybe someone else would
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How to hang clouds from the ceiling on: March 28, 2010 12:54:04 PM
Wait..what? Clouds? From the ceiling?
Yes, that's right!

So lately I have been very interested in clouds hanging from the ceiling such as these
I figured out I could use cotton balls for tiny clouds and maybe pillow stuffing for larger clouds.
The thing is I might (e.g.) need several cotton balls for tiny clouds (one just won't do) and now I am stuck on how to keep the clouds together AND how to put them on the ceiling
Any suggestions Smiley?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My various EGL skirts/sets [image heavy] on: December 25, 2009 05:13:48 PM

So I know this topic is quite old but I have been admiring lolita for ages and have been wanting to learn how to sew myself as well. Needless to say that I really want to try to make this skirt (tutorial pictured above). However, I am having some difficulty understanding it so I was wondering if I could get a bit text tutorial on it? I want to make this skirt but I guess that in my case just pictures aren't enough.

For instance: step 1 already makes me a bit confused, is the skirt folded on the lower side of rectangle?

I am hoping someone can help me out, I really want to start to wear lolita but I can't afford brand (yet)  Sad
It doesn't have to be an awfull lot of text, just a bit more than what's said in the tutorial Embarrassed
And again: I apologize for bumping a rather old topic

Gosh Phizzy, this is such a cute idea Cheesy
And as always I'm amazed by your painting skills, I really wonder how you do it Undecided
I just can't seem to manage to paint like that, and I don't know why!

Also, do you use watercolor pencils (in your journal for instance) Smiley?

Just a quick question.
What do you girls use to make your pages ehhmm thicker? More water resistant
I tried glueing my pages together because I use a lot of watercolors, but that doesn't really work.
The pages I glue together get al wobbly and ugly Sad

Morglanc, your page made me giggle Cheesy''
You celebrated with a spread, a dark dark spread, I think it's funny Smiley
I particulary like how you made the clouds and the moon, did you use acrylic or something?

I made a couple pages of my own, which I shall be taking pictures of later today.
I was wondering, a while ago I made this community on livejournal for visual journal resources (which is http://community.livejournal.com/visual_resource/ if you are interested.)
The only thing is that it's hard to find things to write about on my own, especially since I'm not very experienced yet.
If any of you wants to add some articles that would be lovely!
Do you think it's worth making a topic for it?
I guess it could be usefull for altered art as well Cheesy

Well I guess you could start altering anyway, it would help relieving those feelings wouldn't it?
As long as you don't rip the book apart everything should be fine I guess

Thanks all  Cheesy
I decided that I could do both, so I read a few pages in my book I picked up today (only 50 cent because I got hired and so now have a job in that store, it's my first job so I'm extremely happy!!!!) Smiley
I like the book, the cover is blue and the front says 'gesloten vensters' which means 'closed windows' in a silver font.
Gosh I'm so excited! My watercolors are drying but after this message I can go back to altering Smiley

And Phizzy those chapter titles are so funny Cheesy
I like the one with Castles in the air, it makes me think of a movie I really want to see Smiley
It's by studio Ghibli so it's an anime :p

First of all, gosh all of you guys' journals are AMAZING!
I recently sort-off finished my visual journal. (unfinished things will remain unfished because it makes me think I'm changing the past and I don't feel like doing that Smiley It took me 115 days and the pages are only used for one side because I soon realised they where to thin. It's ringbound so sticking the pages together would be quite a disaster I think).
And so now I am really inspired to start my altered journal.
I have one question though: Have you guys read the book or did you just start journaling?
I think I'll read mine because it looks interesting and well..I think it's sad for the book if I didn't read it first Smiley

I do have a question Cheesy
What did you use to fill it with?
And do you think rice as a filling would do?
