Hi i'm new to quilting but i'm not making a quilt i'm making a quilted bag. I chose the sugar cane block or drunkards path block, the quarter circle withtin a quarter square. I have cut out my pieces but i'm stumped as how to put it together, the book pieces seem different to mine. Does anyone know of a tutorial to help me?
I'm really stuck, help please!!!

Hi can anyone tell me how to get a neat, profesional looking finished look to my bags, the ones i have made so far have all been lined and i have just top stitched around the opening. I think it looks kinda 'homemade' so how do i get it looking great?
Any help would be good!!!

Exactly what it says on the tin(title bar, ha)
I found a japanese flag and decided it would make a rather cool dress, there is no zipper in yet or a hem but it's looking gooooooood! Smiley
comments and the like are welcome, and thanks to Cinderwench for the help with the bust bit, doesn't sit perfect but nearly is good enough for me.

28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / First year fashion show on: June 24, 2008 07:32:41 AM
Hi all, i have just finished my first year of a HND textile course, we had an end of year fashion show to show our garments to friends and family. We had to make four garments a wastecoat, circle skirt, cape and full outfit. I won't bore you with the back story for each one but I'd just like to point out the cape is by far my fave!:)

On to the pictures!

Full outfit, red dress and wasit clincher belt and funky necklace(yes i made that too)

My wonderful cape....mmm tartan!

Circle skirt with patchwork detail.

Any comments good or bad would be appreciated.

29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Sewing HELP! (smock top pattern) on: April 24, 2008 01:57:27 PM
Hi i'm making up my own pattern using a kinda smockish top that i like as my source. I've made a little pattern of the top part which is lined, thing is i can't tell if it's an outer fabric and and lining sewn good sides together and turned insideout or good sides together with the seam allowance tucked under and top stiched down.

Burda style have a top something similar but since i can't follow pattern instructions, it's the tiny little top part, i just down't get how to produce a really finished look to it.

Any help? please?
30  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fabric origami cranes! on: April 13, 2008 03:35:43 PM

I have a cool plan to make a skirt with the lyrics to Regina Skeptors song Samson on it. In the video there are cute paper cranes, i thought these would be a cute applique for the skirt too...
here's what i came up with...

I still have to figure out how to put the lyrics on, neatly as the skirt is a light creamy colour..any suggestions?
