1  Inspiration for a Biathlete in Knitting: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: January 04, 2011 09:19:55 PM

Made for a Secret Santa gift exchange in my knitting group. I drew my running/biathlon partner, so, of course, I had to make something inspirational. Here's the result. This was my first foray into colorwork, and for the most part I enjoyed it.

I did have some issues with the pattern. The top was originally all colorwork, and it was supposed to be finished with a tri-top. But the instructions for it really weren't clear, and I flubbed that up. Had to go back and snip and re-knit the top. It turned out well though.

2  A Hat Fit for a Husband in Knitting: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: January 01, 2010 12:36:32 PM
I made myself a hat to go with my new coat, and my husband decided he wanted a hat as well, but something manly. So, I headed over to Ravelry and found the pattern A Hat Fit for a Boyfriend: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-hat-fit-for-a-boyfriend . I had some black Cascade 220 Wool in my stash that I used (because the hubbs said the green yarn I wanted to use wasn't manly enough). Knit on US 8 circulars, I CO 10 extra sts. just so it wouldn't be too tight and give him hat hair.

The hubbs wouldn't stop playing computer games long enough to let me get a good picture.

The decreasing ribs:

Ignore the dog hair...two dogs and black wool don't mix.

3  Who? Hat--First Cable Experience in Knitting: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: December 31, 2009 09:16:42 AM
I got a new coat this winter and decided I needed a hat to match, so I searched Ravelry and found this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/who-2 and fell in love with it. I was a bit intimidated because I've only been knitting for a few months, but I decided to try it. I figured if it turned out bad, I'd frog it.

But I'm in love with it! It was such an easy knit, and it turned out so well. I used Cascade 220 wool, which I loved working with.

Close-up of the cable:

The hat:

And me in the hat:

I got a bit impatient and started decreasing before I should've. I might make another one in a bit bigger size.

Thanks for looking! C/C appreciated!

Thank you, TrampyCouture, for pointing out this swap to me! I'm pretty sure I'll be signing up.

Here's my Tubby Buddy. We joke that he's a linebacker dachshund, part doxie, part basset:

Here are both my boys together...

I think I've lost my darn mind! (Or I'm just a flake...) Here are pictures of my a-mazing package from teriyakimoto!! Prepare to be soooo incredibly jealous!

Candy apple green...

doxie pendant and flower/leaf earrings.

bangle bracelet

owl wrist pin-cushion

There was also a knit coffee cozy, but it is sitting on my desk at work right now waiting for my Monday cup-o-tea.

Tote...it's already become a crafty/library book bag

Handlebar bag (soooooo cute!!)

Steampunk (a new craft for her...although you can't tell at all!)

jewelry set

I'm so amazed everytime I look at these. I'm just waiting for cold weather!! I couldn't get a very good picture of them though.

Barrettes...I wore the black one to a wedding and got so many compliments!

And another thing that just knocked my socks off!!

(If you can't see it, that's an owl. These have already gotten so much use since my classroom is so cold.)

I couldn't get a very good picture of these either. I tried the mirror picture, and it was bad.

Thanks so much, teriyakimoto!! This was such an incredible package!! I love everything!

7  Considering selling dinner as art in Get Product and Website Opinions by goodtimegirl on: July 23, 2009 02:15:28 PM

Do you think anyone would buy these?? Too crazy or quirky? More than likely, I'd either try on etsy or a local craft show.

What would you pay for them (or would you?)

I've made different colors and sizes; bowls and mugs; different drawings on the dinnerware; and some dinnerware with patterns--like cherry blossom china and such.

What do you think, Craftster?

8  Dinner as Art in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by goodtimegirl on: July 23, 2009 01:59:25 PM
My latest creation. I can't decide if it's quirky or crazy. What do you all think, Craftsterland?

It's pretty straight-forward...painted canvas, silverware, and drawn-on plate.

Close up...

And further away...ignore the computers. It's the best place I could find to prop it up.

I'd really appreciate comments/criticism! Thanks for looking!!

I received this from phoenixfiredesigns. Such awesome pendants!! I've been planning my outfits around them since I received. The pictures don't do them justice.

Fall-ier one:

Summer-ier one:

Forget seasons, I've been wearing both and love them! I've gotten so many compliments.

Thank you so much, phoenixfiredesigns!!

10  Do the Darned Dishes Scrubbie in Crochet: Completed Projects by goodtimegirl on: July 20, 2009 08:24:39 PM
I hate doing dishes, so I thought having a pretty scrubbie would make them more enjoyable...doesn't work. But the scrubbie is cute.

Made with I Love This Cotton using a pattern in Crochet! Today (I think May's issue??--I can look it up if anyone is interested.) It was a really fun pattern, and really easy.

I really like the way the bottom looks.

C/C welcome! Thanks for looking!
