Thanks for all the appreciation, pals! It is so nice to be able to come here and share successes and be inspired.

cute_anarchy: Here these are called Goodwill "outlet" stores. I don't know if they exist outside of portland?

3littlechicks: I did this pillowcase skirt different than the standard way of using the pillow opening for the bottom edge. To feature this print I used the pillowcase on its side, which also allowed a little more bum room, and leg walking room for that matter.

Here is an attempt to illustrate. I cut approximately along the red (diagonal) lines to create a front and back. I made sure the width at the top was 1/2 my hip measurement + a seam allowance, to be sure it would fit over my hips.

This story warms my heart. Your happy boy could be the poster child for the handmade revolution!!!

I really love this skirt, great job! Retro color schemes are so unique. The ribbon was a neat idea.

I think this is my favorite recon EVAR.

This cool retro pillowcase was purchased at the Goodwill's last-stop-before-the-dump where you buy things by the pound! It became a happy skirt with the help of a thrift store tee shirt for the waistband, and an old slip and a bit of fabric from the remnant bin for the second tier. I really had fun doing the twill ties in the back that kind of bustle the skirt. I really like the muted color scheme, that is somehow still springy.
