1  Re: Lots of Layers Top plus shorts in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by whollymommy on: March 30, 2008 07:01:03 AM
I used this pattern last year to make my daughter a dress. Boy was it huge on her! I put it on her this year and it is still big. I used size 1. Here is a pic.

Not this munchkin!..I made this tutu so my daughter could take some photos for her invites for her ballerina theme. I am actually going to make about 20 of these suckers so that the girls that are coming to the party can wear. Thats alot of tulle!

4  Let's start a Halloween post, past and present costumes. in Halloween Costumes by whollymommy on: September 06, 2007 08:01:52 AM
I haven't been here for a while as I am trying to get things back to normal sending three pumpkins to school and trying to keep the little one entertained while they are there. Anyways, I am looking for some ideas for Halloween and I thought it might be a good idea to share. We are really into POTC around here so that has been the theme for Halloween for the last 2 years. My costume was store bought because, as usual I did not have time to create anything for myself. Anyways, I hope you have the time to share.

The characters my costumes where based on.

My little Will Turner, even though he claims he is THE Jack Sparrow!

Elizabeth Swann, who told me this year she will have nothing to do with pirates, and Will Turner.

And last but not least my Jack Sparrow and me(don't laugh). My husband really got into this role and won a few Halloween costume contests.
Removed since, in all fairness this is a sewing for kids forum but you can see it in my avatar.

Originally, when I picked up this fabric I was just going to make a simple lounge set with an applique on a tank for her but like always I changed my mind when I played with the fabric and this is where it landed. Please be forgiving because this is the first time I did pleats using a ruffler foot from my grandmothers old machine. I believe it was from the 1940's and it fit my machine perfectly! Sorry for the blur on the first pic but it was all I snapped because my DD was grumpy because she wanted to run off and play. Too bad little one, too bad! Wink

How do u like 'em?? I saw this cute fabric and thought that I would make an apron for myself out of it but of course I am on a girly girl frezy with my youngest so I thought I would whip this number up.

By the way, forgive the funky haircut on her. Her 5yr old brother "the hairdresser thought she needed a new look and graciously chopped it off a few weeks ago.

7  Anyone want to rhumba? in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by whollymommy on: July 09, 2007 10:47:44 AM
First time sharing here so I am excited! Yeah!
This first one is for my youngest made from a pattern I can't remember which one and I am too lazy right now to go look in the sewing room. The pantaloons need to be resized though, they were a little too big.

Next my 2 girls who are not thrilled to take pics because they want to go to the parade instead! These were the Sunny Day dress and halter top from http://houseonhillroad.typepad.com/.

Anyways, just wanted to share and wanted to let everyone know how inspiring your posts have been.
