32  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / 1 year anniversary? on: April 26, 2005 09:39:04 PM
my 1 year anniversary with my BF is comming up and i have ALWAYS made him gifts.  he told me not to worry about making something but i don't want to be a sell-out and buy a gift.
so.  here is my query:
i was thining about making him a scrapbook of sorts but i'm a) not a scarpbooker and b) not sure if he'd be into it.

he would love anything i made of course but i want it to be something he'll keep forever and stuff.  we are a very sentimental couple as it is so it might be nice.

but, i don't want to spend 374023740237402374 dollars on stupid scrapping stuff AND i don't want it to be cheesy.  any scrapping hints on the cheap would be nice or otehr ideas.

here's some stuff about him: he's 20, into video games(anything ps2), anime, 'boondock saints', 'the crow', heavy metal, and star wars.  he's pretty masculine and not scene or trendy at all so something like a messanger bag or patches wouldn't work.  most of all i love the crap out of him and we plan on getting married so, "the sweater curse" isn't a huge problem (not that i could make a sweater that fast)

i can knit, paint, sew, collage, and stencil the crap out of anything living or nonliving so that might help.

i have a month or so but i wanted to get ideas flowing now.  thanks in advance for the millions of replies.
33  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knit wit's girly boxers on: February 08, 2005 03:43:11 PM
i'm making the girly boxers from the fab book knit wit and i had a question.  It calls for the yarn cascade pima tencel: 50% Peruvian pima cotton, 50% tencel

my question is: could i juust use cotton yarn?  i don't wanna buy 6 skeins of this 6 dollar yarn.  those are pricy pants!

i don't know if anyone could help me... but i'd be forever in your debt!
