1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Two vintage earrings turned rings and a 40's inspired feather hair clip on: September 21, 2009 03:58:30 PM
Hi everyone! Today was my day off from school so I took a trip to HOBBY LOBBY! I found some ring bases [on sale for 79 cents!] and I just moved 5 states away to live with my cousins so I got a hot glue gun which is what I used to glue my stuff together! The actual pieces I put on the ring were old earrings from when I went to high school and in the art room, the old teacher who had this broken and mismatched jewelry from the 70s left behind. The pieces I had didn't have backings to wear as earrings. As for the feather hair clip, I just found this beautiful feather at hobby lobby for 2 dollars! Then I bought a package of 20 hair clips [on sale for 2 dollars also!] and glued the two together with my handy dandy hot glue gun [that I got for 2 dollars and some change!!] Thanks SO much for reading and checking my stuff out! All comments are LOVED, I appreciate verbal compliments more than presents ;P

Hello craftsters!  Grin
I recently took a trip to Walmart and found some awesome fabric on the dollar rack.
Even though the lady who cut my fabric was rude and said everything I picked out was hideous, I went for it and made my friend a purse. It's not showroom worthy or anything, I didn't use a pattern I just winged it, but I am really satisfied, and more importantly, so is she. The pictures are not that great but I love it all the same.

So there you have it, sorry I cannot post a tutorial, I'm really not good at making them. Enjoy! Kiss

I picked up some fabric at walmart that I liked [I love anchors and stars] and i planned on making a shirt for myself, but since I'm such a nice person, I decided to make it for one of my friends instead, because she too loves anchors. so here is the end result and we're both pretty satisfied. [She's wearing the yellow shirt underneath because we were about to leave but I wanted to get a picture before we left because I'd prob. never see it again since we can't wear shirts like that to school]

So I was looking around on some websites for awesome jewellery and I found some. Thing was, the cheapest ones I found were like $10 and for someone currently without a job, that's way to much! So I was looking at the jewellery and I Thought, Why Can't I Just Make My Own? So I Got My Handy Exacto Knives, And Then Decided To Buy Some 20 cent folders and see what I could do. So I've only made two things so far, but one of them was for a friend. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of hers, but it was a TRASHY necklace because she loves trashy life and Audrey Kitching. Here is a picture of my dimaond necklace though, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. What do you think?

I hand sewn this, so it took me a really long time to finish. [About 7 hours total.] ..And I've only hand sewn about 4 things in my life.
I really like how it turned out though and I plan on making more because I got a lot of fabric. Anyway, comments are always appreciated.  Wink

So I had an old shirt I bought at salvation army, and it was too big for me to wear but I love the print on it so I had to do something with it. I just sort of winged it without any instructions and made a tote bag. I really like how it turned out. I can't post pictures yet, but here's a link. Comments?     Grin

I love the stencil shirts everyone makes, with the freezer paper, the bleach, the fabric paint, and the screen printing. I'm finding a million other things I'm falling in love with here, too. I'm really , really, REALLY upset about the freezer paper thing because I've tried it 3 times and it always comes out HORRIBLE. I guess I just suck at it in general because I see so many people make such awesome things with this method, then I try it, and I can't even do a simple stencil! Well, hopefully I'll learn or something, but anyway, thanks for reading this if you did! <3

Okay, So I Made This Leopard Print Top About 2 Years Ago. It Was The First Thing I Ever Made, And I Haven't Done Anything Since. [I'm Hoping To Start Making A Lot More Things, Though.]
Okay, So When I First Bought It, It Was A Spandex Type Material Turtleneck. [Still is the spandex type material, though -ha-] So What I did Was Just Cut Off The Turtleneck .. um  Undecided .. Neck Part. I Was Going To Have It Like An 80s Styled Shirt Where The Sleeves Sort Of Go Off Of The Shoulder .. But It Didn't Look Right On Me, So I Cut It In Half [horizontally] And Made The Sleeves Shorter. Well, I Feel Like I Just Made A Fool Out Of Myself, But, I'm Pretty New To This Thing. Anyway, Thanks For Looking.  Smiley<br>Here's How It Turned Out, Even Though It's Not The Best Picture, Here's A Link.
