1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Ipod mouse =] on: June 17, 2008 06:43:08 AM
So two years ago my brother got an ipod for his birthday.  So what does he do?  Have it in his pocket so that when he runs to the car it falls out.  Obviously not on purpose, but that's what happened.  So he drove over his ipod and broke it.  Bad for him, good for me.  I decided to keep it because I would figure out something to do with it one day.  Inspired by this http://www.zieak.com/2005/08/08/nintendo-mouse/ I decided to turn it into a mouse.

So I basically tried to follow how the Nintendo mouse was made.  I took out the insides of the ipod, attached the mouse button to where the ipod would click, and tried my best to make it fit.  The inside of the mouse was bigger than the inside of the ipod, so I needed a way to cover the gap.  I accidentally switched the buttons, so when you clicked the left button, it actually right clicked, but changing settings on the computer fixed that.

The front.  That's a fake picture to make it look like the screen.  I just chose a song I like and changed the words from a picture I found =]

Here's in the process of making the mouse

So this was a lamp I had in mind for a while, and this challenge finally gave me a reason to finish it Grin

We were getting rid of an old computer so I asked my mom if I could take it apart.  She said I could, and I figured I would be able to make something out of the parts.  The top is from a cd and floppy disks, the hearts are from the circuit boards in the computer, and the keys spell out love around the lamp.

On to pictures!

3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Half-pipe hat on: March 22, 2008 06:20:23 PM
I finally made my half-pipe hat from son of s&b.  It's just cheap acrylic, red heart super saver.  It didn't take me that long to make, maybe a day or two.  Finally put the brim in though, that took me a while to get too.  So...here's a picture =]

Sorry if it's hard to see in that picture, it was a little dark.

Let me know what you think please.  Thanks for looking!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Ducky-Duckey! (Img heavy) on: February 13, 2008 05:23:42 PM
Ok, so inspired by the usb turtle (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=150146.0) I really wanted to do something similar but with a rubber duck.  I decided to make something to hold my keys, because I can never ever find them buried in the bottom of my bag!  I figured a rubber duck would be easier to find than my key chain.  I used the top of a salad dressing bottle for the screw top.

I added holes in the bottom and the unlocker for my car is inside the duck.

Secret compartment!  The head screws off and there's an area the keys fit in.

inside is covered so that it's pretty.

Let me know what you think!  Thanks for looking =]
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Yay bright clarinet case! on: January 08, 2008 03:34:42 PM
So I re-did my clarinet case like, 2 summers ago but I'm posting it now after reading RaeRaggs post about her clarinet lamp.  It was just a black plastic case with styrofoam under the fabric to hold the clarinet, but the styrofoam was kinda broken so I figured I might as well ripe out the fabric too because it couldn't get that much worse.

What a brand new case would look like, but mine was old and messy

So let me know what you think please!  Thanks =]
6  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 23 ENTRIES / Flannel to babydoll top on: December 04, 2007 04:46:51 PM
So when my friend and I heard about this challenge we went to the thrift store and found this flannel shirt

We figured it was pretty ugly so I bought it.  I think it was like, 2 dollars.

Now it's this...

There are a few pintucks under the band, they're kinda hard to see though.

So that's it!  Let me know what you think please.  Thanks!

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Capri Sun wallet on: August 06, 2007 11:27:47 AM
This is my first project post.  I made a capri sun wallet that I made for my friends birthday the other day.  I'm hoping to eventually attempt a backpack or totebag like thing out of them.

Comments and feedback would be great! Smiley
