1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Space and Dr House's quote on: April 12, 2009 12:44:08 PM

Here are two of my latest embroideries. The first one is a view from space, my own pattern, I have tried a few different stitches. Sorry about the bad picture.

And the second one is Dr House's favorite quote. I might reword the tree, not sure.

Don't hesitate to comment, as I am still beginning embroidery. Cheers !
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Hoop question on: April 07, 2009 01:36:45 PM
Heya all

Would you know of any tutorial or website that shows how to put an embroidery on a hoop so that it looks neat and tidy? Huh That is once the project is finished and the hoop is used as a frame.

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Christmas Card and Flower embroidery on: February 06, 2009 06:42:38 AM
Hi there,

I have been lurking for a very long time and finally decided to post some pictures. The first one was done for a Christmas card and was taken from a pattern in a magazine, which I forgot the name.

And the second one is my first embroidery, it is my own pattern and did it with backstitch, french knot, blanket stitches mostly. I used the carbon paper method which works really great. I washed it by hand and all the lines dissapeared.

Any comments appreciated and thank you again for all the wonderful work you are doing that does inspire me an awful lot !!!
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / From coloriage to embroidery question on: December 10, 2008 01:18:12 PM
Hi there. I have been lurcking for a long time on this forum. I have done cross-stitch but I would like to try embroidery.
Now I have found a coloriage picture online and here is my question. From the picture would you rather see the black line around or not? Now I found Princess Amidala, so it is not really a cartoony, with loads of reds and blacks and golds.
Any thoughts?

Thanks for all the inspirations and I hope to post it soon !
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Squid Softies on: April 11, 2008 10:07:51 AM
this is my first post with pictures !!!

So first I would like to thank everyone for all the great inspiration and creativity.

I bought a big pack of polyesther last year, and still have some left. It is incredible how much you can do with only 250gr of that fluffy thing !!!
So I made these squid softies, no pattern used :

Name : Squiddy Blue
It has the mandatory 8 legs and it is about 10 cm x 5 cm + legs

Name : Marge
It does not stand up but I think it will go on a mobile for a child's room...idea in progress...

Comments very welcome!
thank you
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Searching patterns using felt sheets on: March 01, 2008 02:00:37 AM
hello everyone,

I had a lot of stuffing left, and began to do some fishes and squids (go figure why???  Grin) out of felt sheets because it is a cheap material. I struggle to find easy patterns from anything (really it can be anything from dragons to trees or washing machines) using this material online. Any ideas?

Thank you for your help

7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Can you use polymer clay as candleholder? on: October 22, 2007 04:16:05 AM
I just began to experiment with polymer clay and I was wondering if you could use polymer as candle holder.
Is it safe enough? can you take out the candlewax easy from it?
Thanks for your help.
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Have you ever done a sampler? on: August 28, 2007 03:39:30 AM
This is my first ever ever post on the website !!!  Cheesy

I began to cross stitch 1 or 2 months ago and have borrowed almost all the books of my local library about the subject.
I was wondering if you did a sampler like the ones you can see dating from ages ago and showing Letters and Alphabets, houses, etc.
I am doing one myself without the help of alphabet chart of a book but I would be happy to have some idea what to do next. I dont want to do a sampler that is to normal !!!

Thanks for your help
