1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: New SPUN is up on: June 13, 2005 06:18:05 AM
I'm thrilled that so many people are fans of Spunmag.com and it is because of fun, new designers (like Tara and Brittany) that we can keep it going.

If you are concerned that there aren't enough patterns, then encourage designers to submit a design. The big issue is that we can't pay for the design right now because we lack the funding but we do negotiate yarn sponsorships or give free ad space for designers.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: Child's Placket Neck Pullover on: May 03, 2005 04:56:53 PM
Hey there,
I'm working from the corrected version of the Child's Placket Neck Pullover and I am completely stumped on something.

I've completed the lower body portion of the pattern. I've done the first sleeve til the portion when it says that I have to knit the sleeve sts onto the circular needle for the body. It doesn't say how many .  In fact, I don't really get the sleeve adjoining the body thing at all.

Has anyone done this?

You smell worse!!!  Roll Eyes

Yeah, I've been looking and I know that I am doing things as the chart says. You'd be amazed how freakin detailed I am being with this sweater. I love it so much, in theory. I know I can do it.

Has anyone made Hello Yarn's cycling aran?
I'm having some serious problems with the chart - I see myself doing exactly what it says and the results don't look anything like the photo.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / dip dying? on: February 16, 2005 02:05:36 PM
My friend and I were talking about dip dyeing knitted fabrics. Rather than dyeing a  ball of neutral yarn, you would dye the knitted object in pieces.

Anyone see anything like this before?

but they also were inflammatory enough that a few people unsubscribed to our lists because of that and IMHO. oh well
that said, we are going to put up larger photos somewhere.

Thanks for all the the goodness. The photos - well, the photo shoot on Friday didn't work out and we scrambled together on Sunday. I think that we will dfinitely take your comments to heart.
Re: restraints. I made a pair and would have added the caveat except that there is no reason. They are in no way tight. Your hand can slip right out. More of a show item than for people who "play" all the time.
