I made this colorful set for EdelC a few months ago. I love the festivity of Da de Muertos and also she. I use the silhouette of a skull I found at the printer of my office but the decoration for each piece was entirely my idea, I hope you like them. Thanks for looking!

3  Re: Make-a-Friend Round 4: The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by prettyinkpink on: June 17, 2009 09:12:11 AM
Sorry girls, I'm not reserving any spot because I've already got my first package from Edel (EdelC)  Grin I'm a lucky one!

Package #1

Here's what I got:

1. Something local: Locally ground mixed tea that I'm going to try tonight.
2. Something to wear: Two lovely pair of earrings, one pair purple and lilac and the other one black with freshwater black pearls.
3. Something made out with paper: Inches. I deed a beautiful set that represent my adorable partner. (I know EdelC from the last inchies swap round)
4. Something she collect: Three different kinds of fabric. They're perfect for pouches and pencil cases.
5. Something related with her favourite craft: She loves crafts made of paper so she send me a generous bag of paper supplies.
6. Something that smells nice: An amazing incense kit. I can't wait to try it.
7. Something of sentimental value: A bandanna that she dyed when she lived in Australia.
8. Something that represent her personal style: This is another gab of supplies. This one contains a bit of her passion: sewing an altering clothes. The bag is full of: trims, buttons, zippers, feathers, laces...
9. Something that is a summer essential: Two notebooks. A little one perfect for my purse with a cover of fabric. Another of Hello Kitty (I love HK stuff, I'm 31 so it's like a guilty pleasure)
10. Something edible: 3 delicious chocolate bars. I can't helped and only left two of them.

Edel, you know you're awesome. I really love the package you sent me. I hope you and your daughter enjoy your vacation!

P.S. Your package #1 is ready but I have to wait until Saturday to send it out.

My package two arrived last week but I did not have my camera so here are the pics. THANKS EDELC!

She sent me two kits: one for embroidery and another for jewelry making. For the first one she add a needle book with cupcakes motif. I love it!, she also sent me threads and a book for instructions with patterns. For the second kit she sent me a lot of beads, pins, earwires, bracelets and little bags for my jewelry projects.

She craft for me three beautiful fascinators 1. black and peacock feathers, 2. hot pink feathers and a flower made with kanzashi technique and 3. neon pink and white tulle with a snowflake embellishment. Also she made me a beautiful hairpin flower, again like a kanzashi (I really love Japanese hair ornaments).

Because she know that I love Japanese culture she send me a beautiful pouch of Japanese fabric that is reversible (one side is navy and the other is garnet). She loves the red color, the glitter and the Christmas so she sent me a Christmas ornament. Is a beautiful heart made of felt and have beads, lace and glitter as embellishment.

None package is complete without sweets so she add three bars of chocolate, no pic of them because I ate them all before I can take pics of the goodies.

Unfortunately this was the last package from my GREAT partner Edel, I'm very glad that we have the time and spirit for this long swap. Sometimes was a little difficult but at the end we put our hearts on crafting. This time I got a super comfy and PINK hoodie with glittery embellishments (tattoo theme yeah!)

I also got a pair of jeans, I correct, an awesome pair of jeans with a geisha motif painted on them. Edel add to my package a beautiful hello kitty pair of earrings and delicious chocolates. I'll post pics of the earrings tomorrow, by mistake I delete the pics of my camera.

It was very nice to have a partner like Edel and such a nice organizer. Also, thank you ladies for this swap, it was fun to see all the great items you made.

I also have empty spaces since we had a partner M.I.A. I really hope she's OK.

By far my collection includes inchies from:

and me  Grin

I love all of them, everyone is special and unique. Most of them have bright colors and tiny details that make an awesome set. I hope everybody enjoy this swap as I did. Thank you girls, you're the best!

5  Re: Black Masks and Gasoline... in Completed Projects by prettyinkpink on: April 28, 2009 03:58:56 PM
Fellow craftster, I'm Mexican and live in Mexico City  Cry Unfortunately the situation is getting worst. I have my mask N95 and I use it on public transportation or where is a little crowded. I only have ONE mask of this kind and right now it's impossible to get another  Sad. I know that the mask made of fabric is not enough against the virus but I made one in order to use at my office, where I'm alone. Tonight I'm going to make another fabric masks for me and my family. The specialist told us that this fabric mask is effective from 10 min to an hour (I really don't know if this is true, please give me some light in this), so if you want to try this kind you have to make several and change it every hour. Take care.

8  Re: Junk Jewerly Necklace Swap - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by prettyinkpink on: March 18, 2009 09:21:55 AM
Thank you girls for such nice comments  Cheesy, I'm glad that you like the necklace I made.

As I promised here is the story behind every piece I used for the construction of the necklace.

1. I have a cousin of my same age (31) and were very close when we were two little girls. This was a necklace of faux pearls that she gave to my mom on Mothers Day almost twenty years ago. The necklace was long enough to cut in three pieces for this necklace.
2. These golden leaf charms were a pair of earrings.
3. This chain was part of a belt that I never used.
4. This was the centerpiece of a necklace of my mother, until she accidentally broke the rest of it.
5. I adore brooches so my mother bought me a beautiful one that I used at Quinceaera party of one of my cousins. These plastic beads were part of that piece.
6. These also were a pair of earrings that belonged to my grandmother.
7. This was an earring without a post. Its pair is missing. (I also use a broken earring for the center of the hair bow)
8. This was a beautiful rhinestone earring that I love. I kept the other one but is broken.
9. I love Hello Kitty charms so I like to wear them in a chain like a necklace. This was the chain that I used for that purpose.
10. This golden clasp was from a broken bracelet.

This was my first swap is it's awesome! I can't wait to see the rest of the necklaces/bracelets  Roll Eyes

Wow, I love the necklace made by Kmac, so pretty. Also the earrings are wonderful.
Carnabystreet, is the first bracelet and it's awesome, great selection of gumball charms.

Chelseaxbaby doesn't have his camera right now so I'm going to post some pics of the necklace I made for her. I only know some few things about her, one of them is that she loves the movie Moulin Rouge . I have not seen that movie yet but I know the main story so I made a necklace inspired on Satine's jewelry.

I also made a bow for her hair.

As you now I'm Mexican and my English is quite basic. I only write the story behind the pieces of the necklace in the letter that I sent to Chelseaxbaby so I'm going to post it this later when I get a proper translation  Smiley

10  Moulin Rouge inspired necklace of jewelry... junk? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by prettyinkpink on: March 12, 2009 09:54:03 PM
I made this for my swap partner Chelseaxbaby. The only facts I know about her are that she loves Moulin Rouge film and her favourite color is green. I don't have enough green charms or beads so I decided to make a necklace inspired in a movie that I've never seen  Embarrassed

To complete the Satine look I made her a hair bow.

All the pieces of the necklace have a different story, they were earrings, necklaces, belts, bracelets, brooches.
I'm very satisfied with the result and best part, Chelsea also love it!
