1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: coat from legend of the seeker on: February 03, 2009 08:50:42 AM
ok so this is a little OT but how is the show? is it a show or a mini-series? I taped a few episodes on dvr but I'm not sure what one to start with. i'll have to look it up...I think i missed a few anyway.

the show is great! not as bloody or graphic as the books but good. it is kinda like hercules or xena but less campy (same director)

Is it based on Terry Goodkind's "Sword of Truth" series? Sounds like it is.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Screenprinted, appliqued and lined bags (image heavy) on: January 16, 2009 08:25:29 PM
I made these for a few of my girls for Christmas, I got the bags from JoAnne's, and used the same fabric for the applique and the lining. The stencils were done with freezer paper. I think they turned out really great, and they weren't very hard to make. I am definitely going to make more!!! OK, on to the photos.

MIA face from her album cover, I actually used an iron-on transfer and painted over it for durability. You should have seen the look on DH's face when I told him I was using the cheetah print on the pink bag. Smiley

Banksy image with rainbow fabric. I love this one, I didn't want to give it away!

Purple fairy, I found the image online.

I had so much fun making these, I hope you enjoy looking at them!!

Those freakin ROCK!!!

Gotto agree with silverjingles.  These are great - what kind of paint/dye did you use??

Just plain old matte fabric paint. It makes a huge difference if you heat set them with an iron after they dry.

Oh, the Labyrinth is so amazing. Don't even get me started. Love the piece, very clever.

I can't take credit for creating these amazing stencils or cutting them out. That was my amazingly patient and talented husband. We spent the last 3 days on a crafting marathon, I'll post all of the results. This was our first time using freezer paper, what an amazing technique!!!!

This one is hand lettered, based, of course, on the iTunes logo. It is for our nephew who is being born RIGHT NOW!!!! Smiley

Monkey Face. This is for our friend's baby, he is four months old.

Mischief Monkey. This is for another nephew who was born just before Thanksgiving. (My sisters-in-law are busy!!!)

Little baby shirts drying, almost ready to peel the stencils off!

We did a ton more stencils, I am not much of an artist so mine were all stolen off the interwebs. Happy Crafting!

the only pic I have is from the wedding.
These are number 3 and I have a list of about 10 more I wanna get.
