11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / very snuggly baby blanket on: April 15, 2008 09:49:58 PM
i made this a while ago, and i finally got around to posting it.  it's just a piece of fleece with a ruffled crochet edging.  i got the pattern out of the october 2006 issue of crochet today! magazine, and i used bernat baby boucle yarn.  the blanket is very snuggly and light weight.  i made it just for fun.  i wish one of my friends would have a baby so i can make more cute things!  Cheesy

12  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / OW... i crocheted too much... on: March 12, 2008 10:50:44 PM
i recently discovered the joys of tunisian (aka afghan) crochet.  i can now combine my love of crochet with my love of cross stitch.  the piece i'm making is slightly larger than the hook so it's bunched up a little, and is somewhat awkward to hold for about 1/2 of each row.  i don't know if it's because of the awkward holding or just crocheting WAY too much lately, but my wrist and about 1/2 of my forearm hurt.  i'm only 23... it's making me feel old...

any suggestions on what to do to get this pain to go away or to prevent it next time?  i'm on such a crochet kick right now that it's driving me insane to have to stop!
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / starbuck's snowmen (IMG heavy) on: November 13, 2007 10:55:34 AM
a few years ago i was addicted to starbuck's bottled frappuccino.  as i was sitting there enjoying another one, i looked at the bottle and noticed that the cap looked like a little hat.  EUREKA!  a little paint, pompoms, pipe cleaners, and varnish later and...

the starbuck's snowman was born!

14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / reindeer spoons on: November 13, 2007 10:47:43 AM
i made these little guys a few years ago.  they were pretty easy and fun to make.  i just painted wooden spoons and decorated them with pipe cleaners, googley eyes, pompoms, and bells.  for the arms, i just wrapped a pipe cleaner around the handle of a paintbrush.  then i glued a tiny black pompom on the end for a hoof.  the ears are just small bits of pipe cleaners that i bent in a V-shape.  i used black puffy paint for the mouth.  i also put a coat of varnish on the spoons to make the reindeer look more finished.

15  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / eevee evolution cross stitch (pattern on page 3) on: July 31, 2007 12:51:20 AM
This is the first pattern that I designed myself!  I'm so proud!  I simply downloaded sprites, enlarged them, and added a grid.  It was so easy!

Sorry the pic's not so great.  My camera was acting up, then the stitches got distorted when I resized the image.  Undecided

The Pokemon are vaporeon, jolteon, flareon, umbreon, espeon, and, of course, cute little eevee!

I made this for a friend.  Even though he's 23, he still loves Pokemon, and eevee and it's evolutions are his favorites.

...ok, I'm also 23 and I'll admit that I still love Pokemon too... Roll Eyes
16  Ohio / Ohio: Northeast / Cleveland Crocheters? on: July 11, 2007 06:52:43 PM
Are there any crocheters from the greater Cleveland area?  I would love to start a stich n' bitch, but none of my friends crochet or want to learn.  it gets lonely crocheting by myself...  Cry
