1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: My awesome heels. I love them A LOT. (first post!) on: March 05, 2008 09:09:27 PM
they do crack at the folding points so I ended up taking off the "Art for art's sake" part off. otherwise, they're fine Smiley

DEFINITLEY not waterproof. Found this out when I accidentally left them out in the rain! haha.

but they're fine, I had to redo some of the newspaper anyway.

modgepodge = a waterbased gluey finish. it's okay. I need to find a better one though, one that sticks like crazy glue or something

Haha, well, I paint everything.

I firmly believe all plain shoes are made for painting/re-making.

I was looking for heels that weren't too high, and plain, and weren't pointy and closed-toe.
I searched for a vair long time, and I found this at a swap meet Smiley
$18, I suppose is pretty ballsy, but I planned it out and everything before I glued it on.

is the gold on the train spray paint as well?

and you and prolly just cover the shoes in white fabric paint, you'll just have to do layers.

you did a good job spray painting them though, I thought you bought them white Smiley

Bought them plain black for 18 dollars, they had this bow in the front, and I didn't like it so i took it off. You can see the indent in the front part of each shoe.

Materials:
black heels
Modge podge
fabric paint
acrylic paint
magazines/printed images etc etc..

That's my workspace haha.
By the end of it, I took up the entire room floor @[email protected]

LEFT SHOE:

please note the STRIPEY HEEL <33

"Art for art's sake"

RIGHT SHOE:

The 2008 is on the inside of the shoe Smiley
(year I graduate from high school yessss

I'm wearing them Smiley

Now tell me.. are they not kick-ass?
The first day, I got some cracking because of the modge podge so I re modge podged them and then covered the glue with acrylic.

WAAH LAH!

I really love them
I had to re-do them like 100 times, but I'm so happy with the way they turned out!

I need to add more stuff to the inside part of the shoes... like where the 2008 is.
If anyone has ideas, let me know.. Grin
