1  Re: Make me a Hat round 2. Sendouts Aug 16 in The Swap Gallery by whisp3rd on: August 24, 2010 06:29:44 PM
I received from Grannydragon yesterday and I was so pleased with her work!

The hat! I actually wore it today, it rained here in NJ and got chilly enough for the hat. Grannydragon, you were spot on with the yarn choice, I love it! Matches so much of my stuff.

The extras! There are two wooden buttons with two stone beads. The wooden buttons work so well with a cowl I'm working on. There is also an Canada keychain and an Ontario pin. There was a canada magnetic ribbon for your car but I don't remember where I put it at the time Sad

There is also a super cute shawl pin that came with the cowl! I'm not sure if you can see but they are little butterflies!

Grannydragon was kind enough to send along a cowl! And it so versatile!

Thanks so much Grannydragon! Everything is so perfect! I love it! Cheesy

2  Lacy shawlette/scarf swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by whisp3rd on: July 18, 2010 12:00:19 PM
Would anybody be interested in doing a lacy shawlette swap? Something like the Ishbel by Ysolda Teague that would make a great scarf.

5  Coffee Cozy & Pattern in Crochet: Completed Projects by whisp3rd on: January 04, 2010 11:13:03 PM
I am very proud to have posted my first pattern on Ravelry. It's so simple but I feel like it opens a new world of design for me Cheesy

Hopefully will leads to more designs for me!
Pattern is also on my blog.

The actual product of the pattern has some differences, a bit different from this picture but basically the same look, just easier to crochet. The cozy actually rests a little bit lower because I found that I had a bit of a drinking problem (lol) and would dribble a tad and stain the fabric.

Hope you enjoy the pattern!

Coffee Cozy

One size, but could be easily altered!

Sugar & Cream Cotton yarn - One ball
H crochet hook

4 sc and 4 rows per inch

Pattern for a mug with a 3 and 1/2 inch diameter

Round 1: Ch4, sl st to form ring.

Round 2: Ch3. Ch counts as st throughout pattern. Dc 11 more times in ring and sl st to top of ch3. 12 total dc.

Round 3: Ch3, dc in join. Dc twice in each dc till end. Sl st in top of ch3. 24 dc total

Round 4: Ch4, TC in join. *TC in next dc, 2TC in next dc. *Repeat till end. Join to top of ch4. 36 TC

Round 5: Ch2, sc in next 30 tc. turn work.

Round 6-16: Ch2, sc in second sc. Sc to end. Turn work.

Round 17: Cut yarn and bind off. Start a chain of 15 stitchs and join to either corner and sc across the main body. At the end of the row ch17 and turn work.

Round 18: Sc in third ch from hook. Sc across ch17, the body and the ch15.

You're done! Just sc a border to give clean lines and weave in ends!
The pattern is super simple and I hope you enjoy my first little pattern. PLEASE let me know if you crochet this! I'd love to see your version.

Only for personal use. Please let me know if you have any problems with the pattern or have any questions.

So I got my package from Taniquel yesterday and was so excited! She made me some lovely project bags (which were promptly filled up  Embarrassed lol ), some AWESOME stitch markers about my love for anatomy and vet medicine, AND is contributing to my stash with some lovely rich purple boucle australian yarn! I need to find a awesome little pattern for this yarn because I've never knit with boucle lol

So here are the pics!

The awesome yarn!

The stitch markers!

I wanna start a collection now! Uh oh

And the wonderful bags with Gizmo who is trying to make me mad Cheesy

Thank you so much Taniquel! You did an amazing job which makes me sad that I don't have mad sewing skillz like you Smiley

I received my lovely package from Ollieorange! She made some wonderful little toys for my babies to play with.

The big ones will wait for Christmas morning but I let my Memaw's Jack Russel have at it with the small toy. It's great for her since it's soft and light and she has no front teeth because her previous owner had kicked them out.

I love the birdie but the fleece rope toys are always a favorite in this family.

And there was chocolate but that didn't make it in the picture since I live with two other females Wink
It was bound to happen lol.

Thank you so much Ollieorange! They are perfect and my dogs will love you! Cheesy
I promise your package is on it's way soon.

I am finally posting pictures of the great package I received from MareMare a couple of days ago. She was soooo generous and I'm sure I'm good on soaps for a long time.

But believe me, I'm not upset at all.

So, to begin we have all these buttons including some I think were from her own collection? Fantastic buttons!
I almost want to make a button bag but with neutral colors now!
I can't make up my mind Wink

Some lotion and lip balm that will definitely come in handy. I work at Godiva Chocolatier now and my hands are so dry because we wear gloves all the time and the store is so cold that my lips are becoming chapped! lol

Plus, yarn to feed the monstar that is my stash Wink
Maremare, great selection! I don't know if you thought about it but these blends are great. It doesn't get cold in Texas till december (I SWEAR) but these will warm without being overwhelming so. Definitely going to make some fingerless mitts, or maybe a lacy scarf. We will see.

And the soap! ooooooh the soap.

From left to right
Top picture: Rosemary shampoo, Goat's milk - Smitten Vanilla Blossom, Muppet poop! I love this so much. I actually made muppet inspired yarn so this is great!

Middle picture: Coconut Lime Verbena (not a big coconut fan but I like this a lot!), Berry Kisses, Orange Blossom

Bottom picture: Jasmine Rose, Grapefruit tea rose, Peppermint

Thank you so much MareMare for a great package! It was a definite treat!

And I apologize for the size of the pictures, I just really WANT YOU TOO SEE THE DELICIOUSNESS!

I received my fantastic package from Atsuko today!

Everything was perfect! The Tree of Live pendant is gorgeous and has blue-green stones. I don't know what they are sorry!

She also made some stitch markers which I have been in dire need of. They're nice and bright so I can see them easy.

And she was so kind to also make some lovely dangly earrings. Chandelier may be the word? I love these because I love how they set off my jaw line.

Atsuko, thank you so very much! It was so great to receive your package after a horribly long day Smiley

I have received love2teach's package! It is great! I feel sooooo slow but I'm looking for a hospital job but I will definitely be sending on time!

These are a great start to this blanket. I'm trying to decide if I will keep it or give it to Project Linus.
We'll see Smiley

Thanks again love2teach!
