21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Go Gators! on: October 15, 2007 08:29:46 PM
It's been awhile, but I finally got some stuff done.  This is one of those stuffs.

My supervisor asked me to make this, it's for my MIL (who also used to work with us). She ordered her a set of Scrabble tiles to play fast Scrabble with while she's recovering from a kidney transplant. Can you guess she's a Gator fan?
The inside is lined with this bright orange slippery fabric that my mom has had laying around for years. I think its original purpose was to become a hunter's vest back when my 26 year old brother was 5.
You wouldn't think that a bag that small was as difficult as it was. I had it all cut out and planned and then my sewing machine decided it wasn't going to do buttonholes. SO... I had to redo the top and rethink the ribbon tube thingy. Agh! It was a learning experience to say the least.
Nothing big, but I felt bad because I haven't been posting much lately.  I've been busy making things for other websites.

When I glanced at the thumbnail, I thought it was boy george (the early years)!
I love the colors- great choice.

Cute earrings, but I think I like the packaging better.  Edgy, smudged, I love that look.

27  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: I'm stumped... big surprise! on: October 03, 2007 08:01:47 PM
I think that is called dotted swiss.  I used to have white ruffley curtains made from this in my bedroom as a child.
Thanks!  Yeah, I had a bedspread in it when I was little.  I googled it, and you're right, it is called dotted swiss.  I think my grandma called it something different though. Thanks again!

Can anyone tell me what the name of this fabric is?  I know it, I've heard it before, but for the life of me, I can't remember!!!!

Maybe next time curve his trunk down so it's not quite so, um, attentive?
