1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Vest & Skirt (6 pictures) on: November 19, 2009 10:22:09 PM
Well i had a bit of creativity the other day and made a skirt and a vest.
The skirt was a patten from bruda which i will post here in a second and the vest is just from some scraps of a failed skirt.
I made it for me but it looks terrible on me.
Anyone have any good pattens/tutorials on vests??

I made a dress out of this and had some left over fabric i really like this skirt.

It is buttoned down the from and i was going to add the ribbon to it but decided not to.

Thanks and C&C
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Amy Butler Weekender Bag on: October 23, 2009 04:45:07 PM
Everyone has been saying its a really tough bag to sew, but i found it was alright to sew.
Apart from the fact that its a bit uneven on the other side i really like it.

I must say that i did start this around February, March and stopped half way because i needed a needle that would go through 1000 layers of fabric.
But i finished i think last month and took it away to Melbourne with me. I sure is big i fit about a weeks worth of clothes, plus a big jacket toiletries and a hair straightener so its pretty good. (gets a bit heavy)

All In all a very nice bag and i like the outcome.

4  COOKING / Dessert / What is this?? on: September 25, 2009 05:37:25 PM
I was helping out at a play the other night, as it was the final night one of the teachers gave me this.

Now she won't give me a recipe and won't see her for four weeks so, can someone give me maybe a name of this and a recipe?
I would love to make some more as it was fantastic.
5  COOKING / Dessert / Black & White Cake?? on: March 27, 2009 12:17:47 AM
Hi craftsters!
(sorry if this is in the wrong place)

I am having a  party in 1 week and the theme is Black and White now i would love to make a really pretty black and white cake for the party but i am not really sure how to go about this.
I know that some people on here know their cake stuff so i decided to ask
what would be a good recipe that tastes great? (not a big fan of cookies and cream)
I would like to make a fondant to put around the cake which will be white with black spots but the recipe i have been looking at calls for Crisco shortening now i live in Australia and have never even heard of it any ideas to use instead of it?

Thanks ahead for any ideas Cheesy

general outside idea.

i like the black colour maybe a marble effect?

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Amy Butler Weekender Bag Question's on: February 02, 2009 01:23:22 AM
Hi Craftsters!

I just brought the Amy Butler Weekender bag pattern and I live in Australia.
So I dont think some of the stuff in it would be available to me here.
Thats why I am wondering if someone could help me with some substitutes for some items.

Timetex- whats a good substitute or something very close to this?
Is normal cotton and home decorator cotton the same to use? I am getting home decorator cotton but just curious.
May sound dumb but whats a yardstick?

That all the question for now thanks for helping me if you can.
& if anyone has some hard parts they went through or tips please tell.

Thanks Cheesy
