Ooh, Mayviss, are those transfers you got (on the r of the picture)? They look gorgeous!

They are transfers and are indeed gorgeous - they are some extras that Lothruin threw in.  How fun is this??!!

I received my purse to make a tin purse from Lothruin today!!!

This will make the cutest purse.  The ribbon and beads coordinate wonderfully.  If only I didn't have to get to swatchin' for my knitting olympics project, I would be all over this tonight.  So cute.  I cannot wait.  Thanks Lothruin!!

Geesh, way to make me feel bad, guys!  Wink

I have the perfect tin, and I've spent literally 2 weeks combing hardware stores because the one simple item that I used on my last tin purse, which was so perfect and polished-looking, is no longer available at Menards, so I've had to figure something else out.  And I finally did.  FINALLY.  On my...*counting under her breath*...  7th hardware store.  BUT, now that it's done, no worries.  This puppy will be awesome, and that was the hard part.  So I'm scott free now, time wise.  Cheesy

Lothruin, thanks for going to the trouble.  I cannot wait!  Meanwhile, I still have to write out my instructions and I'll be ready to send . . .

I would absolutely love a tutorial!  These are so cute.

Do you have a local Stitch N Bitch group?  My SNB routinely gives cast off yarn to local charities.  I bet if you send them an email, they all have some yarn they need to part with anyway.
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How to let out (lined) coat sleeves? on: January 09, 2006 01:16:46 PM
I bought the greatest coat at Goodwill yesterday.  The sleeves are just a tad too short for me.  There is some fabric turned under, but it sewn onto the lining.  Does anyone know how I go about letting these out?

No one was ever very specific about how to attach round handles, so I have the same question that others have posted. I'm guessing you bind of, and then use the last 'live'  piece of yarn and a darning needles to just sew into the bag and around the handles again and again? That's what I'm going to try. I bought some superchunky yarn (Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick) to make this and I'm going to try and make a bigger purse tonight. If anyone has tips before I sew the handles on, it would be great!

That's how I attached my chopstick "handles" and I think should be the best to attach round ones as well.
so glad all of you are having so much fun with your purses, not fair!! Wink

I know how you feel - Not only have I not received a bag to revamp, but no word about the bag I so painstakingly selected and mailed out.  But, I haven't given up - I hope to hear something from my partner soon.
