1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Punched paper art on: April 19, 2011 08:19:01 PM
Wow - this is so simple but looks so amazing!

I especially love the butterflies. I think it's because they're more symmetrical Smiley
2  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Cheapest/Easiest Last min gift ever-Chocolate Toffee Pieces; "Christmas Crack!" on: December 19, 2010 04:32:56 PM
Thanks so much for posting this Smiley
I made a batch the year your first posted this, and when I happened to come across this (being featured on the main page definitely helped!) I decided to make another Cheesy they're in the fridge hardening up now Smiley

Absolutely gorgeous! =O
I often make my own cards for the holidays (Hanukkah included Smiley ) but I don't think I'd have the time or patience to craft this number of detailed paper cut cards Smiley
Great job ^^
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: ok, i've cut my jammie pants pattern but now things aren't matching up on: May 03, 2009 07:43:22 AM
Glad to hear you've finished!  Cheesy
Just because of the way they go together, it's kind of odd doing it the first time, but then you catch on and can turn them out in much less time ><

" is it ok to clip into the seam allowance or in the future should i be clipping outward?"
I always do notches outward. If I cut into the fabric I know there's less of a chance of reviving an error if something does go wrong. Plus somtimes I cut my notches a bit longer, and if it's so long that it ends up past the seam allowance, then I know I'll end up with a tiny hole ><
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dying jersey knit? on: May 03, 2009 07:30:19 AM
I bought a jersey knit dress that I really liked... except for the colour. It's a light purple and just looks too washed out on me. I'm hoping to make it a dark blue or purple - is there any way to do this?
What kind of dye can I use/what method?
Any tips/tricks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Grin

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Watercolor-looking fabrics? on: April 26, 2009 08:27:53 AM
Thanks for the help!  Cheesy
I'm thinking that I might go a different route for making my dress, but I really appreciate knowing what's out there Smiley
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Watercolor-looking fabrics? on: April 10, 2009 07:50:35 AM
I was wondering where I might be able to get fabric like this watercolour print (that overlaps the opaque silk layer in the dress below).
The fabric doesnt need to be indentical, but it you know of any sites with fabrics that are similar and could be used for the same purpose - please let me know! Cheesy

Len's Mill Store?
Never heard of it, sadly I assume.
Last time I was in Guelph I went to the mall with the Fabricland non-stop-sale-shop only to find that a) they were closed and b)it was going out of business Sad
What a sad day that was.
I got accepted to Guelph the other day (though not sure where I'm going) and my boyfriend was saying that it's probabaly not for me. I joked back saying "Yeah, you're right, they no longer have a Fabricland  Sad "

Really cute top! Which is cool, considering I'm not usually one for the tattoo-style. *googles pattern* ^^

I saw you were honoured... so I made one too Cheesy
It looks more similar to mollytwin's though, as I found that simpler ><

I've been looking for maybe two or three days now for a cute but simple card to make for my boyfriend - so thank-you veryyy much for providing the inspiration <3 Now I just need to figure out what will go on the inside! XD

I'll try to get a pic of it up at some point ^^
10  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: Edison quote, you+me=<3, and "keep Earth clean" mugs! on: January 26, 2009 07:04:29 PM
Oh, that's a shame Sad I just ended up buying one (a little over $7 when taxes are included. ick.) but I used it to make two cups for my tea-loving friend as his birthday dinner/movie is coming up Smiley

Did you store them horizontally? (as opposed to vertically). Doubtful, but it could possibly be why? :S but it surprises me that they're all giving you awful luck? Sad
