2  Re: Bargain Hunter Swap Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Grahairedoldlady on: June 30, 2008 09:18:16 PM
Hi all,  I recieved the first of two packages from esmecraftin.  Some really nice stuff.  She did some stalking and also filled a special wish I asked her for.  Soooooo neat.

First is the package all together.

Then a pic of the Kitchen towels.  My name and my favorite animals embroideried one of them.   Love it and will hang it for show.  Beware the person who actually wipes their hands or the dishes with this one!!!!!

Next are 4 napkins with appliqued hearts.  Love the color, they will be great  for Spring and Summer.  This picture came out better then the first.  And the prettiest little tea cup she found and made a pin cushion to fit inside it.  Have to learn to make these pin cushions.  I love them!!!! Grin

[Then she sent me three cross stitch gift card kits.  Love doing cross stitch.  I go in spurts between that and knitting.

And she made me a book pillow.  I think that means I can have chocolate in both hands when I am sitting in bed reading and not have to hold the book  which is a good thing as she sent me 4 more dark chocolate Flake bars.  Yummmy!!  And the flyers from her area.  Makes me want to go visit.

And the Post Card of where she lives, a card she made with again my fav the horses, and 2 dark chocolate Flake bars one of which is gone.  Flake crumbs all over my bed but ooooooh so good.  The other I am saving for a special time when I need to indulge again.

Her shopping list
Postcards                              .40
Chocolate                             1.99
Tea Towels                             .94
napkins                                 1.00
vintage teacup                        .50
Blue fabric                              .50
card kits                              Free
$10.00 =  5.10

Thank you esmecraftin, I love it all. You way out did me on this swap.  Love it.

4  Finn's baby booties in Knitting: Completed Projects by Grahairedoldlady on: May 15, 2008 08:33:49 AM
Finn is my unborn baby grandson and I am making him a sweater from Bernats 100% organic cotton.  The pattern for these booties were on the yarn so I made them up quickly so his little feet will be warm when he gets here.  I am going to try and get a better picture of them to show the color better and will edit this later, but I had such problems last night trying to post that now that I have it figured out again I am not going to lose the opportunity to post them.  HEHE Grin

5  Koala Bear in Knitting: Completed Projects by Grahairedoldlady on: May 15, 2008 08:28:20 AM
I made this little koala bear for a girl in Thailand.  I was her angel, probably the only person in the world who can ever say I was an angel!!!   She was really fun to make and is made from Patons 100% wool.  The pattern came from a book called KNIT TOYS which I recieved from the yarnie scavenger hunt swap.  Will be doing more from that book as it was fun and quick.

I received from Liebschien today and what a wonderful package it was.  Wait until you see the fabulous things I received.

Something green, yarn she dyed herself in green and browns,  I love it.  Need to find something special to make with this.

Something related to T, Tiny bear rug she made for my log cabin doll house.  My little teddy who lives in there will love it.  You can't really see the rug part of it but the little face was so cute I had to show everybody.

Next is funny, two books.  One by Dave Barry "Big Trouble" the second Donald E Westlake "The Hot Rock".  I love to read and will be on vacation for a week so they will be with me.

Something Hard, another book, Knitting Toys.  Can't wait to get into this one.  Have been looking at a couple of books for animals and toys.

Something Round, a round plastic container with round Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Yummy my favorites.
Something Local, a package of chocolate Alligators.  Love chocolate!!

The most awesome of all, Senders Choice, a complete kit for felting wool, including instructions, needles, foam, a bamboo mat, bubble wrap, bandaides for my poor fingers, and best of all dyed wool which she dyed herself.  I love all the bright colors.  And she made the off white piece of felt also.  Sooooooo neat.

Thank you Liebschien,  I love everything.

8  Re: Friends of Craftster Secret Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Grahairedoldlady on: March 05, 2008 09:56:31 PM
Ok everybody I recieved from glittergirl94 and she is who I was crafting for!!!!  My mailbox was stuffed with a douoble envelope and a whole bunch of postal tape.

First of all I got a knit wash clothe with the shape of New York State which is where I live.  glittergirl says her second knitting project so I guess she is going to catch on fast to the world of knitting.

Second is  a doco trinket box which I always need for my little trinkets I need to store so they don't get lost.  Two candles, gardinia truffle and wild fern and best of all a little stuffie Bird  who I am naming Birdy and she is perched on my computer desk so she can obsorb all the nastyness that comes out of my mouth when I get frustrated with the compuie.  Thanks glittlergirl, I needed someone to help me over the frustrations.

Next and already full of yarn for my next project is a reverible tote bag.  Love the colors and the prints.  So pretty!!!!  Lots of pics showing both fabrics and then the whole tote

And finally a hat, scarf and fingerless mittens in a bright spring green with white accents.  Somewhere glittergirl must have seen my love of scarves.  Great package and I love everything. Thanks glittergirl.

9  Skully hat and socks. in Knitting: Completed Projects by Grahairedoldlady on: March 04, 2008 06:55:07 AM
This is a pic of the Skully hat and socks/slipper socks I made for the FOC secret swap.  I tried to find plain color sock yarn for the socks and finally had to give up and bought some yarn to do the hat.  After I finished that I decided to see what the socks would be like in the heavier yarn.  I wasn't really happy about it but I sent them in the package anyway.  It was fun to do although I am not into skully things.  Not bad for not knitting socks in years.  The picture is with the rest of the package I sent.  I guess I forgot to take one of the socks and hat by themselves.

10  Re: Stuff an Easter Basket Swap in The Swap Gallery by Grahairedoldlady on: March 03, 2008 09:11:27 PM
Be ready to be jealous everyone.  I recieved from MandyLikesPie today.  It was waiting for me to get home from work tonight.  Wasn't supposed to work but got called in for today and tomorrow.  What a nice suprise to have a package waiting for me when I got home.
First off I open the box and find everything wrapped in this nice piece of material and tied with a bow with a note sitting on top.

The Basket as Mandy and I decided to actually do baskets for each other.  A pink bunny dish scrubber and a pink bunny note pad.

The bunny scrubber and then egg shaped playing cards, they will sit by my bed as I love to play solitaire while I watch TV, when I get tired of knitting.  and an Easter wreath with little eggs on it and ribbon to hang it with.  Love it Mandy

I think my favorite is the two chocolate easter bunnies but one is not edible.  He is adorable and will sit on my bed.  Thanks Mandy I love him.

Next was a small embroidered table scarf with a rabbit.  Such nice work, one of the things I have no patients for.  This will be used for many years to come. And a crocheted Carrot pouch that is just adorable and an embroidered book mark with my name on it.  That will get alot of use as I love to read.

Everything all together including somemore chocolate, Reeses Peanut Butter eggs actually all gone as I type this,  Starburst jelly bean egg, and my favorite, Cadbury eggs.  Thank you MandyLikesPie you are a great swap partner and I love it all.  You Made my day.
