1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / blue-green wavy hat on: November 14, 2009 03:31:25 PM
I made the "pescovegetarian" hat from Ravelry - it's such a satisfying pattern! In fact, I've made it several times, the otheres have gone to charity. This one's for me and it's a lovely yarn, even though it's not my usual colours at all!

Thanks for looking!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / rose's armwarmers on: November 14, 2009 03:19:49 PM
I made these for my sister-in-law for Christmas. It's a free pattern from Ravelry, inspired by the ones from Doctor Who (Doomsday episode). Hope you like them!

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / birdy cushion cover on: November 14, 2009 03:13:18 PM
My mum just finished this - isn't she clever? She doesn't really use the Internet but I persuaded her to let me post it on here as I'm sure you guys will admire it! It's from a pattern out of a French magazine.

Thanks for looking!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / a question of selvages - can anybody help? on: January 06, 2009 11:04:00 AM
i've just finished knitting brooklyn tweed's noro striped scarf, using the method he suggested of slipping the first and last stitch of every 2nd row. it feels like the tension is much tighter on the edges where i carried the other colour, to the extent that my scarf has a bit of a curve along its length.

is that something i can fix by blocking it? or should i go back and reknit it - only i don't know any technique of tightening up the loose edge (between rows 1+2 of the same colour) or loosening up the tight edge (between row 2 of colour a and row 1 of colour b)

has anyone else found a similar problem? i'd really appreciate your feedback.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cute hat for niece! on: December 19, 2008 10:28:54 AM
here's a little hat i made way back in the summer, and have saved to give my niece for christmas. the purple yarn was from a bargain bin - it's really soft. the pattern was adapted from the kittyville hat. hope you like it! (i know she will wear it because she still wears the crappy black cat hat that was my first attempt when i learnt to knit)

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / big wool pink moss-stitch scarf on: September 26, 2008 10:03:14 AM
i made this chunky scarf for my brother's girlfriend, for christmas. it's rowan big wool, which was on sale at john lewis, and i used 2 balls. just moss-stitch, with a fringe at each end. she loves pink!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / bright owl phone cosy on: August 31, 2008 03:38:04 AM
i made this to protect my mobile phone, with scraps of patons fairytale colour 4 me. the owl is made from scraps of felt. i've made a similar one for my friend, just on a hot-pink background.

ha - shortly after i made this, my phone company rang up saying they would upgrade my phone for me. i said no, because a new one probably wouldn't fit into my cosy - so instead i was given a thousand free texts a month. i wonder if i will use them all?!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / tea and cake! on: August 27, 2008 03:08:18 AM
this is a teacosy made from scraps - it's meant to be a strawberry, not a tomato as i've been told it resembles.

the cupcake is for a pincushion. i also made cupcakes for my friend, my mum, and her neighbour. they are so handy!

yes ... i know what it looks like! sorry for the rubbish quality of the photos.
