11  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / how can you tell the right side and wrong side on plain canvas? on: January 12, 2008 11:11:01 PM
i'm starting a new project and i was hoping to get it pinned and cut out tonight but it doesn't look like it b/c i can't tell the two sides apart! well actually, one is rougher than the other but i don't know if the rougher side is supposed to be out or the smoother side. anyone else have an idea??
12  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / how long do you let paint dry for b/f peeling off stencil? on: January 08, 2008 05:04:59 PM
there's my first question and my other is how long do you let dry inbetween doing another stencil on the same shirt? i'm doing a 3 part stencil and i've never done one b/f. i know i'm crazy starting with a complicated stencil my first try...but i'm def. up for a challenge! also it looks like i'm going to need to iron the stencil on over the paint already on there, is that going to hurt it at all? any advice at all would be great! thanks

14  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / how do you all join pieces? on: January 06, 2008 12:22:10 AM
i'm working on a top right now and i'm about to join the pieces and i've tried following the way deb stoller does it in the snb books but the way she words it is just freaking confusing so i just kinda wing it and i guess it turns out ok but i'd rather know a good way to do it and not have to wing it all the time.
15  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / reverse crochet!??!--nevermind! i figured it out! on: December 26, 2007 11:19:48 PM

17  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / sewing machine hasn't been used in over 10 yrs... on: December 20, 2007 03:03:48 PM
hi all,
i kind of inheirited a sewing machine from my grandma except my aunt got it first and then decided she didn't want it so then i got it. sloppy seconds but its a sewing machine at least right? anyways, i was told i need to oil it b/f i turn it on or it might jam up. question is, where do i oil it at? are there certain areas that need to be oiled frequently? or just once and it'll be fine? i've always just used my moms sewing machine so i've never had to really take care of one. any help or suggestions would be great. thanx!
