Great project with so many firsts!

Look at you with your Craftster Pick of the Week over at Mr. X Stitch!  Congratulations!

That is the most bitchin' octopus I've seen stitched. ^_^ I love octopusi! (Octopusses? Whats the plural there?)

Octopi, actually.

Those turned out great!  I have a few bird food and cat food bags around here waiting for a similar treatment.  Perhaps I'll find the time sooner than later now that I've seen yours.

What a lovely and meaningful tribute to your pet and your relationship.  I'm tearing up a bit as I sit with my own 20-year old cat in my lap.

Wow! How'd I miss this?  So well thought out and executed.

PS I don't think this is what the ladies at JoAnn's were expecting when they sold you armloads of crafting supplies.  Ahem.
3856  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Barking Spider Disguise + Alter Ego Outfit (shameful number of photos) on: August 31, 2009 02:57:25 PM
Thank you!  I'm so excited about them and for getting to give that kid a nickname, even if it is a euphemism for "tooting."  Well, especially because it's a euphemism for tooting.

So, a friend of mine since grade school gave me the honor of nicknaming her baby boy.  I've never met this kid.  I did know that he was early standing on his own and declared him a super hero.  So in the brainstorming process I threw out Super-J and Happy Pants.  She like Super-J, but said that he'd unfortunately inherited his dad's pants... i.e. noisy.  Ahem.  Hmmmmm... I KNOW!  He's a super hero called The Barking Spider!  She loved it!

The web and parts of the spider glow in the dark!

Again, the web glows in the dark!

The cape attachment and back:

A wee orange spider on each sleeve:

After we'd agreed on The Barking Spider, she showed me a saggy-bottomed photo and thought compared it to the infamous 'plumber's butt.'  We decided that his alter ego would be that of a plumber.  He's his Mild-mannered Plumber Outfit.

Company name on the sleeve:

They're both size 9 months and I should get them sent off in the next week or so.

Adorable!  I just love crab images and especially on kids' clothes, because aren't we all crabby once in a while?  I have to agree with Barbolot, food stains on baby clothes don't ruin them, they give them "patina."  The shoes are a great revamp, too!
3859  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Backseat Cover/Dog Blanket: Who wants to go for a ride? (a litter of pics) on: August 31, 2009 07:57:31 AM
AWESOME MissT! I love this! So, when can I get you to come custom fit one for my truck? Not so much for the dogs, but the kids! Cheesy I rocked it!

Thanks 'Toots! I was actually thinking just about 30 mintues ago how it could work for kids, too.  Would it be too much of a pain to deal with under car seats?
No way, all the junk they get under their car seats is astounding! lol A cover for under them would be awesome since you have to take out the carseat to clean under them anyways! lol

Well, here I go learning something and at my age!  I thought people didn't take those out until they switched sizes.  Whatta ya know?
