I will do. please nag at me if I dont show something soon, it means that my bags are still unpacked....how I hate unpacking...let me count the ways... Wink

I was about to reply with something about being shocked about not unpacking your crafting supplies when I realized that I bought some flannel the other day that's still in a bag hanging on the laundry room door knob waiting to be washed.  Ahem.

I was so bummed. (notice how I am picking up the vernacular) there was a 40% coupon in the weekend paper I bought, but the bloody thing expired the day before I went into the shop, had the fabric cut and was at the till...mind you it doesnt explain how come there was a load more stuff in my arms that I wasnt getting 40%off on..lol

cold cereal is good...but so sweet here..my teeth start to shreik at me if I so much look at a box

ah well..farewell sweet joannes...we head home tomorrow into the craftshop wilderness..

That IS a bummer!

Not all of it is sweet, but you're right about the US... our sweets are WAY sweet compared to a lot of the world

Have a great trip home and be sure to show us that bias tape you make!

Oooh, pretty!  Love the leopard print.  Did you use a stencil or freehand it?

Thanks!  It's free hand.  I hung up the upholstery fabric next to where I was working as a guide (of course it was painted before upholstering).

Awesome!  Grin

Thank you!

You did a great job on the redo of the chair.

I do have a question though.  Is it my imagination, or does the chair list to one side?  I've looked at these pictures over and over and the chair seems to lean to the left.

Thanks!  No, it doesn't actually list to the side.  The seat does tilt towards the back (by design) and in the outdoor photo, the concrete slab drains away from the house and towards the street (also by design).

When I saw this post (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=319003.0) on the same day I got a job to paint a beauty salon door with zebra stripes with a hot pink frame and lettering I remembered an project I did about 7 years ago.  I can't find the before photos, but these chairs (2) had about 3 layers of paint and no upholstery, although there was evidence that they had at one time had an upholstered seat.

Front & back:

Why the photos are taken in 2 locations?  I don't remember.

Yowza!  That's quite a makeover and so great that you were able to bring it back to blah when you moved AND take some of the cool stuff with you.  Strange coincidence: I was just today hired to paint a door with black and white zebra stripes and then trim it out and letter in hot pink!  Spooky!

Thanks! That IS weird that you were hired to paint the same theme! What a fun job though.  I tell ya, there is nothing more fun than living with zebra stripes! Maybe that's why they are so popular.

It's for a beauty parlor, and will hopefully set the fun tone they're going for.  It's not my normal thing, so it should be a fun little project!  Mostly I've done leopard spots...

I got an inch and a 1/2 inch, if there had been a 2 inch I would have got that too..lol..My excuse is that I might never be in a joannes ever again (well at least for a couple of years) and I might really really need a tape maker...or punch needle embroidery thingy..or yards of fabric..or stacks of paper...or a quilting ruler...or stamps..or a stamp block....or or....lol..you get the idea..

It is just as well we are leaving soon or it would be cold cereal for dinner for a month Wink

Ha! I wonder if the JoAnn's in Florida are different than the ones in Oregon, because I'm generally disappointed when I go there.  Not that I don't use that 40% off coupon even just to get a skein of glow-in-the-dark embroidery floss.  Wink

Cold cereal is one of my favorites!  It's so QUICK!  Wink

I blame you Mistress T, I am on vacation in orlando at home and have been worshipping at the temple that is Joannes, as I am wont to complain...frequently...we dont have any shops like that at home (ireland)...I have been there a few times already on my visit..bought $$$ of fabric and paper and just plain stuff that I clearly couldnt live without a moment more...

I wasnt going back again (we go home on saturday)

but after this thread I had to go back and buy a bias maker...I left the shop (another) $60 lighter...with not just one but two tape makers, more paper, stamps, glitter etc etc...

If you need someone to blame, I'll do it.  I'm about as far away as one can be from Orlando and still be in the continental US so I feel safe from any retribution you or your family might perpetrate upon me.  I so badly want the 2" maker, but can't (yet) justify the expense.  Plus I've only once seen one in a brick and mortar store.
