3631  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Backseat Cover/Dog Blanket: Who wants to go for a ride? (litter of pics + NEW 1) on: January 13, 2010 11:24:39 AM
It will be awhile before I could even consider posting a tutorial, but I'll tell you that I just took out the headrests, climbed in back with the bedspread and a sharpie and marked all the corners and places where the headrests went in and where the seatbelt buckle were and cut it out.  Then I sewed bias tape around the edge and the holes for the headrest posts and buckles.  That easy.  You could always do a test run with an old sheet and then use it as a pattern.

Whee!  It's such an honor.  I'm stunned.

So cute! I love them.

Gosh, thanks!

This looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see it all filled up!

Why, thank you!  Perhaps this month I'll have an adventure to start it off!

This is a great idea with so many possible applications!  When I saw the Signal tube in the thumbnail I knew I had to check it out... I collect foreign toothpaste* and have a couple different kinds of Signal in my collection.

*Yes, really.
3636  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Vintage Lace Necklace on: January 11, 2010 05:08:04 PM
It's so wonderfully simple and lovely!  I've had some handmade lace from some dear departed relative that I've never known what to so with and now you've got me thinking!  Thanks!

I've sliced a 78 or two with a utility blade (also some 33s) and it took much longer and was more likely to flake and crack at the ends.  If I do more with them, I'll let you know!  Thanks again for your help and advice!

Thanks for the info, it's exactly what I was curious about!  I've a hand drill, oddly enough, so I may finally use the records I've thrifted for the purpose of crafting!  Do you have any experience with the old, brittle 78s?

Do you have any special tips for drilling the records that you're willing to share?  Slow or fast?  Wood or metal bit?  Those kinds of things?
3640  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: A Nice Little Reminder on: January 10, 2010 05:09:26 PM
I'm utterly shocked that you and the mister didn't have embroidered pillowcases until now!  Those are adorable and I can practically scrape the sweetness off my driveway that's emanating from way over at your house.
