One way to sew over vinyl is to use tissue paper between it and the presser foot and then tear it away when you're done.  Of course, with quilting that might make for hours of picking tiny bits of tissue out from under your stitches, so be warned.  I'm lucky to have picked up a Tephlon foot for my machine with a gift certificate, because I love making things out of vinyl and they're expensive.

Wow, that's neat!  A very original, and yet somehow traditional, take on a xmas stocking.

That's so fantastic!  I think the pearl would be a fantastic addition and think it's great you're considering doing it as an optional bit.  Your sister is going to come out of her year of hell looking sharp and walking proud with your super thoughtful creation.

Thank you. My sister pretty much raised me so it's nice to give her something she's excited about. I'm hoping that this next year will be a great year for her. She really deserves it.

Well, it sure seems like she pretty much raised you right.  Happy holidays to you both!

3615  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: My Y-Front (underwear) Quilt! Image Heavy!! on: November 23, 2009 06:29:40 PM
Absolutely hilarious and amazing!  Now that I've seen a photo of it on a bed and on the lawn, I want to see photos of it in all kinds of places.  The swing set at the park, the beach, a baseball game, etc.!
3616  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Snappy dress trousers for men (lots of pics) on: November 16, 2009 08:08:51 AM
Wow! They look professionally tailored!  The pocket detail is so sharp - making a bit of a fashion statement, but keeping it classy. I've made one Kwik Sew pattern and just bought another and hope it's as dreamy as you say!  (My first was altered enough because I was making a Ziggy Stardust costume from a wetsuit pattern that I can't use my experience there to judge - ahem)

YKYACW whenever you wear your craftster hoodie out you hope some other craftster will notice and say something.  It's yet to happen, but today I'm wearing it to a craft and a fabric store so here's hoping!

Wow! This is so interesting and great! Too bad more bridesmaid dresses don't look like that.
3619  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: Sharpie Dye Color Bursts on: November 12, 2009 04:20:03 PM
That's sure neat!

Yeah it seems like the hammock would also help keep the floor clean and whatever you put there, which in our case is often my suitcase!  Plus probably fit a greater variety of vehicles where mine fits the Honda Civic hatchback and probably not much else.   Wink
