371  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sock Monkeys on: July 12, 2004 07:34:55 AM
What does a lovely young (ahem) thing do when her date cancels on a Saturday night? I created this happy little couple:

372  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My little monster on: July 12, 2004 07:32:50 AM
I got inspired by the Stuffed Felt Monsters thread, and made a variation for my sister. It's about 14 inches tall, and very loveable.
Thanks for the inspiration!
373  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Bra Purses on: July 11, 2004 08:30:40 AM
I love it! The last thing I need is another project, but I'm dropping everything and making one of those now. Thanks for sharing!
374  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Cleo's Doll on: July 11, 2004 08:24:25 AM
The body and dress are felt, and the hair's yellow yarn. She requested red button eyes, with 2 holes in them -- she specified the pocket with the flower on it, literally every last detail.

This weekend I had a little more artistic freedom since she wasn't home. Friday I made a stuffed monster, and last night my date canceled (sob), so I made 2 sock monkeys. I'll post those tomorrow.
375  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Another nude -- "Bimbo" on: July 10, 2004 06:26:16 AM
When I have a dozen or more nudes completed, I think I'm going to make a large quilt with them, or a bunch of pillows.
376  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Cleo's Doll on: July 09, 2004 07:42:58 PM
Thanks for the feedback. Cleo still hasn't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas (she's easily creeped out -- Scooby Doo still freaks her out). I thought that's where she got the idea for the doll, but she had no idea what I was talking about when I asked her about the movie. She just really wanted a rag doll that she created on her own. I need to pick her brain for some more ideas. :-)
377  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / And the last nude (so far): "Hussy" on: July 09, 2004 11:04:23 AM
"Hussy" is yet another fabulous word I'd like to reclaim:
378  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Another nude -- "Bimbo" on: July 09, 2004 11:03:20 AM
I love the word "Bimbo", which inspired this piece:
379  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Nude embroidery on: July 09, 2004 09:06:20 AM
Here was my first original piece (and I'll happily admit that Jenny Hart at sublimestitching.com is my muse). I've made several more since then, and will post them later. Today's my first day to post (I posted "Cleo's Doll" in the doll section), so let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

My 7-year old daughter designed a doll and asked Santa to make it for Xmas 2003. She insisted that Santa took special requests. She designed this doll down to every last detail, including thread color and number of stitches on her mouth. She named the doll Molly. Recently, she asked me whether Santa really made the doll. When I admitted I made it, rather than being upset, she was very very impressed with her Mom's handiwork. The doll is about 7 inches tall. (This is my first post here, so forgive me if I'm doing something wrong, but feel free to tell me so I don't do it again.)
