581  Re: IYP 18 Gallery!!!! in The Swap Gallery by phoenixfiredesigns on: June 11, 2011 12:47:57 PM
I received my package from SMLounsbury today and I just SQUEE!'d when I opened it. I knew she was making me a Hobbes but he was more awesome then I imagined. Plus, the other things she sent were so fun too.

Here's Hobbes:

Isn't he AWESOME? OMG I love him so much!

Here's everything together. Hobbes, a tote with the funniest Disney Princess picture I love, some beads, a hair flower clip and another iron-on of the same image larger for use on something else. (Oh and my cat Gracie who refused to get out of the way!)

The hysterical image:

The beads (I love the "sunset" mix of fiery colored beads!)

And another of Hobbes with the salt water taffy I forgot to photograph earlier in the group shot. (I had to snag it away from Love!)

Thank you SO much, SMLounsbury! Hobbes is so huggable and lovable and he's going to be a really great comfort in the coming weeks/months with my surgery.

I'm so tardy posting this. I received from luckdragon days ago. But, as you guys probably know, I'm dealing with some major medical issues right now. So I apologize for the delay in showing it off.

She sent me a set of four brown/blue embroidered placemats. They're so fabulous!

Thank you so much!!

583  June Bride - Wedding Bubble Tree in White and Ivory Glass Pearls Set in Silver in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by phoenixfiredesigns on: June 08, 2011 01:50:45 PM
My famous Bubble Trees are a unique take on the traditional Tree of Life Pendant. Featuring vegan-friendly glass pearls framed in silver wire, this example was inspired by a June Wedding.

I made this piece with a beautiful, formal event such as a Wedding in mind. It made me think of a bride glowing on her wedding day, walking down the isle with a unique and gorgeous creation at her throat. It's just such a striking and stunning piece and would look beautiful in both ceremony itself and in photos for years to come. It also kinda reminds me of Winter in many ways too. All white and crisp.

As always, thoughts welcome! Cheesy

584  Bird Nest Pendant in Champagne Glass Pearl with Dangle Accent on Figaro Chain in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by phoenixfiredesigns on: June 08, 2011 01:48:18 PM
I started with a simple bird nest. Non-tarnish sterling silver plated wire makes up the nest and nestled inside are four glass pearls in a champagne (taupe) color. Dangling on one side of the nest are two chains accented with more matching glass pearls in two sizes. The dangles hang asymmetrically off the one side for a neat accent.

It kinda reminded me of a bridal item once it was done. I didn't go into it with that in mind, it just kinda organically developed as I made it. I think it's just a neat take on the normal and gives a little something extra. I hope you enjoy it too.

As always, thoughts welcome!

585  Antique Gold (Brass) Bird Nest with Chrysocolla Eggs and Floral Charm Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by phoenixfiredesigns on: June 08, 2011 01:44:42 PM
Just a little something different I made last night...

The focal point charm was the inspiration for this necklace. It has flowers and branches on it and it reminded me of a blossoming tree like a cherry blossom or similar. Running with the tree theme, I added a small bird nest dangling from the bottom. Wrapped in a bronze wire, it features three Chrysocolla gemstone eggs. Chrysocolla is a neat gemstone with swirls of green and blue together and the little round gems remind me of small little earths.

I think this is just such a fun, feminine little piece. It feels very summery to me and I love the simplicity of it. It's one of those pieces that just kinda came to me and I just really think it's super cute. Smiley

As always, thoughts welcome!

I received during the week from redstar13! She sent a great supply package with TWO storage containers (I can ALWAYS use more) and one of them with a great mix of a ton of beads!! (Oh and the stickers are because she said it reminded her of daffodils and she remembered that was my favorite flower. So nice!)

All kinds of beads like amethyst, jades, jasper and some findings as well. All really cool and all really helpful.

Thank you so much, redstar13! Grin

I received my wonderful swap from PosiTori a couple days ago and I'm so excited to show off the lovely things she made for me!

First, everything together...

A great Nook cover, the cutest little Hedwig owl ami ever, a super cute jellyfish ami, and even some yummy white chocolate!

The cuteness!!

Nook cover action shot:

Aw, PosiTori, you've been such a wonderful partner!! I should get yours out this week and thanks for your patience and your kindness with my medical issues. I still am going to hold you to getting together for some tea or something when I feel better! Wink

Thank you so much!

588  A little piece of the sea... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by phoenixfiredesigns on: May 25, 2011 12:15:27 PM
This beautiful piece starts with a massive sea foam green Chalcedony faceted heart briolette approximately 18mm x 18mm. Its then wire wrapped in non-tarnish sterling silver plated wire. Accents of rainbow moonstone and blue apatite faceted rondelles on sterling silver ball tipped headpins surround the center focal stone. It hangs on an 18″ sterling silver plated Figaro link chain and is finished with a lobster claw clasp.

This is a gorgeous piece. Very feminine and just lovely. The color is so soothing and the moonstone and apatite just harmonize so well together. Its just a lovely pendant. Grin

I've had a busy couple of days so I haven't had a chance to show off the great shrug DesignVigilante made for me yet!

The color of the yarn is just perfect!

I tried about a million different angles trying to get one that showed it off but it turns out it's hard to take a picture of you shoulders yourself. Cheesy But it fits perfectly.

She also sent some little extra goodies like hot chocolate, tea and such but I'm a dork and forgot to take a picture. (I was too busy trying to take an action shot. lol) Thank you so much, DesignVigilante, it's most excellent! Grin

590  Phoenix Fiery Gemstone Cluster Dangle Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by phoenixfiredesigns on: May 18, 2011 12:59:35 PM
Ive been wanting to make a pair of phoenix/fire color earrings for awhile. And the nice thing about making jewelry is that I also get to make custom pieces just for myself sometimes too. Grin This was my first time making something just like this but I think it came out really lovely and I hope to be able to offer some in this style (but maybe in different color schemes as well) in my shop at some point in the future now that I've worked out the kinks on my pair. Wink

For now, look how pretty! Lemon quartz teardrop briolettes and micro-faceted rondelles in garnet and shaded citrine. All set in sterling. (Mmm...gemstones....)

So lovely. And Im just so pleased with the colors and how they look worn as well. Like I said, this pair I made for myself to learn the technique and figure out the logistics! Grin

As always, feedback welcome! Grin
