Aurora and I were highly amused by this painting of the tourist from Lilo & Stitch we found just sitting on display at a local art store.  Cheesy

Over the weekend, we went down to St. Pete to a monthly antique market called Brocante to walk around. There's always weird and interesting things.

Aurora found an appropriate sized sailboat:

After, we headed a little further south to the city of Gulport. I'm a member of a group called Localshops1 - all about helping support local businesses in the community - and they have a storefront. I won a contest to have a photo of mine displayed there so we brought it down.

There was a small break in the rain so we walked around the main street a little bit.

We saw a cool manatee mural too:

Last few days it's been rain, rain, RAIN and more RAIN!! Tons of thunderstorms. It's unusual for us to have "all day" storms like this, let alone all day for 5 days in a row. But 70% of Florida is in drought conditions, so  we can use it.

Here was yesterday's radar for example:

...today's shaping up the same. It's ok, I'm just doing my physical therapy a couple times a week anyway (Monday & Wednesday this week and next) so during the week there's not been a lot going on.

MegaCon was a whirlwind so I didn't get as many pics as I wanted (you're so overwhelmed with everything, it's hard to remember what you've taken photos of or not!) but here's some of Aurora's adventure attending the huge convention.

Here's the outside of the Orange County Convention Center (2nd largest in the entire US!) where the con was held. They had the entire north/south building which is 1 MILLION square feet of space!!

We stayed overnight in the hotel literally across the street. Here's the view from inside the building looking back at our hotel:

Since it was like $70 for a pic or autograph, we just took covert pics from afar:

Apparently, Aurora WAS the Little Visitor this Stormtrooper was looking for! Grin

Thankfully, no Little Visitors were harmed in the taking of this pic:

It's such a big space!

But much fun was had, even if is a bit of sensory overload! Grin Hopefully, we will be attending Tampa Bay Comic Con the end of July as well so she'll get another chance to get her geek on!

As always, click any pic for larger version!

Here's a teaser from our epic weekend at Megacon. I have so many pics to go through and a lot on my dslr I'll need to see what came out, but meantime...

And just because I'm super excited and proud, here's me meeting Tom Wilson - aka Biff from Back to the Future

More to come!

We spotted Smokey The Bear the other day and Aurora wanted her pic with the "celebrity bear" so he was nice enough to pose with her. Cheesy

I had another show this weekend. It was a new market I haven't vended at before. It was in a park-like field under the trees. Sadly, the weather was threatening to storm all day so not many people came out. We only had a quick burst of right right at close.

Aurora was sitting in the booth looking out. Sadly, there wasn't a lot going on.

Aurora came with me for my physical. There was much sitting around bored, so she entertained herself.

Hrm, that blood pressure cuff is too big for you!

Saturday, we headed back over to Walt Disney World again - this time to Magic Kingdom. The long-standing fireworks show, Wishes is coming to an end this Thursday, May 11th. So I wanted to go out and see it one more time. Plus, Aurora didn't get a lot of time to enjoy Epcot as a theme park the previous weekend due to it being Dapper Day, so this was a pure, theme park adventure day!

Entrance to Magic Kingdom - the famous Main Street Train Station

Cinderella Castle with the "Partners" statue of Walt and Mickey

Dumbo the Flying Elephant!

Yummy Mickey cake pop treats!

In front of Beast's Castle and the Be Our Guest Restaurant

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. (This here's the Wildest Ride In the Wilderness!)

I have more pics on my camera but I also want to save some for the album. Also, I still have to edit my fireworks shots. But much fun was had!! Grin

Aurora came with me to Dapper Day yesterday at Epcot! Dapper Day happens two times a year; spring and fall. It occurs at Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Paris in France. The idea is that back when Disneyland (California) first opened in 1955, everyone wore their "Sunday Best." Women wore dresses; men wore suits. So it's a day designed to embrace "stepping out in style" in the parks again. A lot of people do a 50's style, though it's not limited to that. And, a lot of people do what's known as "Disneybounding" where you wear an outfit that's reminiscent of a character, movie, attraction, etc. (It's kinda like a more subtle version of cosplay. You're not trying to be identical, but you're using clothing and accessories to give a similar look/feel.)

So, yesterday was Dapper Day at Epcot! It was SO HOT (about 94f / 34c) but we braved the weather and went. I did a Figment bound. Figment is the purple dragon from the Imagination ride and he's the unofficial mascot of Epcot. All day people were excited by my outfit and knew who I was styled after. It was also Flower and Garden Festival so the whole park is done in up flowers and topiaries making for a beautiful backdrop.

Entrance to Epcot and the famous Spaceship Earth geodesic globe:

Figment even has his own topiary!

Aurora and I in front of the "upside down waterfall" (It goes up!) and the Imagination Pavilion:

Aurora came with me to my mom's today and she had to entertain herself while I was cleaning the house. She found my mom's orange tree in the backyard.

Poor thing got sick and they cut it back to a stump last year but amazingly it grew back! It had blossoms this year even, though this teeny, tiny little bump was the closest to fruit that the tree got this year. Maybe next year. We were just impressed it came back at all!
