1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Smocking Questions on: September 29, 2014 12:05:22 PM
I've searched for a good tutorial or thread on Craftster and the rest of the internet, but I just can't seem to find a good site on smocking (particularly arrow smocking.)

Can any of my fellow craftsters help me?

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help! Suggestions on how to duplicate this only smaller on: July 10, 2014 11:49:48 AM
How much smaller are you talking?

If it's only going to be around 5ft tall, papermache or stiffed fabric would be easier and cheaper than your current efforts.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How to affix little plastic spiders to the ceiling on: July 10, 2014 11:45:45 AM
Hey all,

My kitchen is a spider web theme, and I thought it would be cute to put small glow in the dark spiders on the ceiling. The ceiling is textured, and even though the spiders are hollow and extremely light, they won't stick! The only thing I've tried is bluestick (?) or that poster putty stuff. I want to avoid using tape since it would cheapen the look.

Any help is appreciated!

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Any Craftsters have a clue on how to do a mirrored countertop? on: January 22, 2014 01:09:04 PM
Hey guys,

I want to turn my drab countertops into something glamorous! So I'm thinking painting them high gloss black and then affixing A TON of those little craft mirrors on top. But then I'm stuck, how do I protect those little guys? Do you think an acrylic clear coat would do it? Or something else? Help me!

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny Surprise Thing Swap (SU Dec 28, 2013- Jan 11, 2014. SO Jan 31, 2014) on: December 29, 2013 08:56:43 PM
I'm in! This is a great first swap. I've waited damn near seven years for a good one like this that I can trust myself with completing in time and with good quality work!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help in reconstructing this purse - the "hard/padded front" ? on: December 29, 2013 08:25:02 PM
It appears that I''m looking for corrugated plastic or plastic canvas! I guess I could have looked further down the message board and seen that someone else had posted a similar question! Thanks to all who read!

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Help in reconstructing this purse - the "hard/padded front" ? on: December 29, 2013 08:17:07 PM
Hello fellow Craftsters!

I love everyone's skill in reconstructing and recreating, so I would like to seek your advice. I've been trying for years to find this purse http://img.hottopic.com/is/image/HotTopic/249074_hi?wid=700&fmt=jpeg&qlt=95,0&op_sharpen=1&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.0,0.0,0,0&iccEmbed=0
But have been unsuccessful. So I decided to just recreate it!
I've good as far as pattern drafting and actual sewing, but this purse, as I remember it, had a hard material behind that front fabric. It's almost like a cardboard (but much sturdier) interior, maybe with light batting on it.
Any tips on how to recreate that part?

Much Appreciated,
