1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Handbook for the recently deceased notebooks :) on: May 14, 2017 11:05:02 PM
I'm getting ready for my kiddo's birthday party.
This year it will be Beetlejuice! ... I love that she loves Tim Burton movies and wanted to be Edward Scissorhands for Halloween (which did not happen, unfortunately.. maybe next year).

But the first thing off my list is tiny notebooks for part favors - they turned out so cute!

I downloaded (=stole for personal use) the image of the Handbook, shrunk it and made tiny pages from copy paper.
All the 9 year olds better love it, as it took forever Cheesy
(I'm really not good at papercrafts)

And now we'll need to make some black slime, a Beetlejuice snake cake and a creepy piata... so much fun!

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Walter says HI! on: March 26, 2017 01:51:46 PM
 Cheesy

I love making silly odd dolls.
Walter is an easygoing observative little guy, who likes art and all things dry and moist-free LOL

He's made from paperclay and has a natural linen body with some french knot bumps and stitched joint hoops (man, that took forever).

Hope you guys like him!

3  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Aye aye! on: March 23, 2017 05:59:55 PM
One of my favorite animals (I have quite a few).
So wonderfully odd and adorably ugly ❤

Needle felted on a wire frame.

And to balance the cute-ugly with cute-cute -a little fawn!

... I just love felting animals - from odd to adorable - although, to me, the uglier = the cuter Cheesy
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My neverending Don Quixote painting. on: March 23, 2017 05:48:39 PM
When my dear husband asked me to make a huge somber Don Quixote painting with his scrawny horse and fields, I dove into the challenge and thought "why not?".

What I learned-  painting a human, horse and a landscape all in 1 is quite the challenge. Also - trying to capture someone else's vision is not always easy.

I think it turned out good.
I think it's about 40" wide and finally ready to get framed.
Whewww.

Acrylics.
5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Little felted friends on: March 07, 2017 05:47:33 PM
It's been a while again, but trying to keep up with my Craftster friends and share my latest works.
It's been quite a few pet portraits - in 3 d and 2 D.
These 3" pups are actually brooches (back) and the cats are about 5" ... and the lil hammie about 4".

And I try to do more wool paintings as well -they are so fun!
Here's boxer Cali (6" frame/hoop)

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the approaching spring weather with crafting filled days!
6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / The birdwoman on: September 13, 2016 07:59:23 PM
I made this birdwoman, for the talented ArtsyCandice, in IYP swap. I know she loves all things bird and women-  and I tried to work that into an art doll, I would enjoy making.
She has wire body porcelain arm and feather wing, coffee dyed  (I tried  Grin )cheesecloth neck and feet and clay plague mask peak. Her body is rom wool sweater and has embroiderd stitches on it. And I love that antique lace trim Smiley

And she brought her little hungry plant pet with her  Wink - wire body, glass bead teeth (posable mouth and tongue) ... they both might be a bit on the creepy side, but i swear, they behived like perfect ladies, while staying over, so no worries!  Wink

7  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Fluffy kitty on: September 09, 2016 11:40:04 AM
The floofiest kitty I ever made.
I just love the color of her eyes ... and the floofiness 😄
And someone that fancy could use a some accessories, right?

Thanks for looking!
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / When someone is that handsome, you just have to draw him on: July 09, 2016 11:57:06 PM
With mistakes and all, cause you don't really draw that often... but still turns out cute.
There's this doggie, that has the most perfect eye makeup ever (#creedmorethegreat ) - and I jsut had to draw him last night, when itching to doodle, but not having a subject Cheesy

here's my drawing:

and here's the cutie:

9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Sphynx brooch on: July 09, 2016 11:43:12 PM
I'm a bit obsessed with Sphynx kitties Cheesy
Aren't they the coolest - such weird animals with the biggest most gorgeous eyes ... and no hair on couches and sweaters!
(well, mine don't anyway, as we don't have any pets... but I'm hoping for a nude kitten at some point in my life Cheesy).

They also make for great jewelry - so, I made a brooch. Just a head (and my June Planning Ai doll is modeling it for me, too Tongue)

Hope you like!
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Science Birthday Party! on: June 30, 2016 09:33:59 PM
My 8 yo decided she really wants to have a science themed party this year.
I love theme parties and especially such a great one - not any of that Disney stuff, but science! Haa!

So, we needed:

*disposable medical coats - to protect clothing and customize with sharpies
*silly glasses and felt moustaches - cause silly!
*Special Einstein wig for the Bday girl
*beakers - for juice
*test tubes - to fill with candies and to take home
*test cups {with biohazard stickers}- to put their glue goo in
*Pinjata - a quick red test tube with bubble wrap "foam" sticking out
*Photo props - Elements table (with an extra element - the Bday kid's name!), rat, test tube and Einstein's hair
*Fun facts decor - Einstein's and Hawking's quote
*petri dishes-  to take some wonderful little tetanus and salmonella viruses home - gotta have gifts! Cheesy

Progress video of one of the drawings:

and we also needed supplies, such as:

*white glue - for goo making
*Borax - to mix with glue to get goo
*baking soda - to mix with vinegar to fill balloons with gas
*Balloons - to fill said gas with
*Empty water bottles - to put the vinegar and baking soda in
*Vinegar - to mix with baking soda to get gas
*Dry ice - to add to juice for cool icy effect

Look at the balloons filling up:

- cause, you know - nobody can be uncheered with a balloon! -
(you should've heard the squealing and giggling, that the balloon trick caused- such excitement!)

Everyone had a blast and the experiments with basic household items were a huge hit, so was the dry ice Smiley
(and I had a lot of fun making stuff for the party - if only I could get someone to run the show, that day, too, we'd be all set Cheesy)
