My favorites are the original version of Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life, and A Christmas Story. Although, I love watching Christmas movies. We usually have a movie marathon about a week before Christmas.
Most of my handmade items are done, just a couple more that I had in mind. I also have bought many stocking stuffers, although I don't think some of them will fit in the stocking.
I think my favorite song is one called "Ol' Fatso". It's a song about a kid who doesn't believe in Santa Claus and in the song he gets turned around. The last line: If you don't believe in Santa Claus, he won't believe in you.
I went shopping today for some extra goodies for my partner.
I admire those of you who have made your own traditions instead of trying to fit someone else's lifestyle. We made that decision years ago and it was the best one we've ever done. We always invite anyone who doesn't want to spend Christmas alone of with family drama. It seems to work.
On a crafting note, my partner and I have been chatting and we seem to have a lot in common. Thanks, Sevs for an awesome partner matchup.
We also have a tradition for Christmas eve. Homemade pizzas and old Christmas movies. We've had movie marathons that lasted for hours. The most fun was when my grandkids were little. We watched animated movies until they fell asleep, then switched to It's a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story and Miracle on 34th Street.
Christmas is an unusual time for us. Some family members and a few adopted family members come for dinner and gift exchange. The day after is an open house for friends. We gather for games and puzzles, shared snacks and conversation.
