71  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / some fruitful Dumpster Diving :D on: April 24, 2007 09:32:08 AM
I'm a college student and I'll tell you, I've furnished most of my apartment with treasures I've found dumpster diving (is there a PC term for that? I kind of like Dumpster Diving...) A while back I hit the jackpot with a dresser...the drawers had ball barings and everything.

First a little background...I made this little number last year:

and wanted a dresser to match, but not be too matchy.I LOVE my little two drawer, but this, I haven't decided whether I like it or not. A friend did the design, and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. What do you guys think?

Thanks for looking!
72  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / We Travel the world over... on: April 24, 2007 09:23:11 AM
I caught on to the altered book craze a while ago, and after stumbling upon some old international postcards (holy cow the stamps were cool) I thought I'd give it a go.

Here's what I came up with so far...

And a close up of the left side:
(It reads : We travel the world over to find the beautiful)

Thanks for looking!

This inspires to me to make a Hoggle or Ludo ... But I don't think it would come out quite as fantastic as your worm!! Nice work!

This is amazing! I spent some time exploring Italy two years ago and still have a pile of odds and ends I picked up there...what a great way to save the memories!

This is GORGEOUS! I love that you've solved the ugly dangle chain adjustable necklaces face by adding the large stone in the back...beautiful.
79  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: 40 cent fabric find! on: February 24, 2007 09:54:02 AM
Thanks, LittleThistle Cheesy

After I finish a set of smaller frames, I want to tackle something bigger...maybe a fabric-y picture frame head board that'll add color to my white walls (apartment blues...) Now all I need is a corresponding center piece for the frame.
80  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / 40 cent fabric find! on: February 24, 2007 12:37:13 AM
Even thought I don't support Wal-Mart, occasionally I find myself wandering the isles...and I came upon some lovely 40 cent fabric (score!) and after getting some inspiration from a fellow craftster, went to it.

Here's what I came up with:

And a close up on the flowers:

This was just a trial frame (it was 2am and I didn't feel like sewing, so I rocked out the duct tape...) The next one I want to work some beading in. What do you think?

This is the original inspiration (I don't have the name/link to this one, but I'd love to give some credit!)

Thanks for peeking!
