blossom, that is a cute hat!

beth- I love how your dresses have the sheer border at the bottom.  That is so cool.  Do you happen to know where that bikini tut is offhand?

I made pants!  I'm so dang proud of myself.  I can't believe I made pants!  Here's Emiko in her p.j.'s.

262  Easter Suffies! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by amigurl55 on: April 05, 2009 09:16:57 PM
OK, so I have a lot of free time.  A lot.  Here's my latest; some cute Easter stuffies!  They're both from the Stuffies kit.

My favorite.  I made a second one to give to my aunt as an Easter hostess gift.

A little bunny.  It was supposed to be all glamorous and sparkly, but I just wanted a plain one.

What do you think?

I got the pattern from bitofwhimsyprims on Etsy.

This doll was difficult!  I think she was more difficult than a poppet.  It'll probably be a while before I attempt to make one of these dolls again.

Poppet shoe pattern here (I made this specifically for poppets): https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=228560.310

Here's my fire demon poppet.  I'm not sure if I like how she turned out.

Well, the reason I didn't use the front was because I wasn't real sure how to go about sewing the fly.  I really want to do an elastic waist.

Here are the pants.  I'm stretching out the waistband.  As you can see, they turned out fine except the waist is just a little small.  I'm OK with scrapping these and starting over- it was just scrap fabric.

Oh, thank you so much Eliea.  I guess since this is something I really wanted to make it came out looking pretty good.

I also have a tutorial for poppet shoes!

OK, I'm not so great at writing crochet patterns, but you can PM me with any questions.

Crocheted Poppet Shoes
Size H crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn in the color of your choice

Ch. 9
Row 1: sc in second ch and in each following ch. Working in other side of ch, sc across.  Join in beginning st, ch 1.  (16sc)
R2-R5: sc around.  Join, ch. 1 (16sc)
R6: sc 10, leaving remaining sc unworked.  Ch 1, turn.
R7-R12: sc across.  Ch 1, turn.  (if you wish to clean up the edges, slst around before finishing off).  FO leaving long tail for sewing.  Sew together creating the heel.  Tada!  You've got a poppet shoe.

So I realize this thread hasn't been posted in for a couple months, but its better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one, right?  Plus Emiko wanted to show off some of her cute new clothes.

Fancy dress.  You can't really tell from the pic, but the design is sparkly.

Poodle skirt!

Emiko would like to see what the other poppets are wearing, too.

I made a quick photo tutorial.  I'm a visual learner myself, so stuff like this really helps.

1) Cut your yarn and place it together.  Make sure its as close together as you can get it so you don't end up with gaps in your hair.

2) Cut a strip of fusible interfacing.  Make it so its the same length as your, um, hair grid(?).  Place it fusible side down onto the yarn.

3) Fuse

OK, I admit I wanted to show off my cute iron.

Make sure the interfacing is fused onto the yarn

4) Sew.  I like sewing interfacing down so I can see what the yarn is doing as I'm sewing, but it may be better for some machines if you sew interfacing side up.

5) Tear off interfacing and attach hair to poppet

I hope this helps somebody.

littlezo- interfacing helps make fabric more sturdy.  Its used a lot in purses and stuff.

I have an idea for a fairy poppet.  Does this look OK for the wings, or is it too sparkly and looks like a 5 year old made it?

270  Another Poppet (stop me!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by amigurl55 on: March 30, 2009 10:09:45 PM
After making my second poppet in a different fabric from the first, I decided I liked the second fabric better.  Having sent said second poppet to my husband's Grandma, I had to make another for myself.

Thanks again for the pattern, Ghilie!!  The shirt is craftewoman's peasant top with longer sleeves.  I found the skull in the clearance at Michael's- its just a little sticky thing.  I winged the skirt (PM me for a very basic tutorial if you want to make one).  Her hair is Yarn Bee Cameo from Hobby Lobby and its sooooo soft.
