11  Re: Inchie House Halloween Swap 3 in The Swap Gallery by noelle on: October 02, 2016 04:20:16 PM
i received two amazing houses yesterday.
i was hoping the sun would come out so i could take some better pics, but this was the best i could do.

first off, from curiousfae, a sweet candy-roofed house.
i enjoyed the ad on the side, too, which says in teeny tiny writing, "Mrs. Pomeroy's Pathetic Pumpkins... Slightly scary, slightly scared. Not edible. Definitely not. Owl delivery the very same day."  Smiley

next up is a creepy abandoned house in the woods from cmarion3.
she crammed a crazy amount of detail on this sucker! is that egg-crate you used?

they are both FANTASTIC. thank you so much!

12  Re: Jeans recon into a skirt. Diagram only. No instruction. Need help in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by noelle on: September 03, 2016 05:11:08 AM
ok, i've included the back view as i imagine it...

here's a diagram showing the whole lower skirt bit. dashed lines are flare added to front & side back pieces.

the back skirt pieces separated. you will need to add seam allowances. the arrows are approximate grain lines.

the front skirt pieces. the flounce can be spread as much or as little as you like. more spreading = drapier, flouncier. less spreading = straigher, flatter.

if this is still something you are interested in, i can walk you through more of the construction bits another time.

13  Bastet Sock Kitty in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by noelle on: August 16, 2016 04:45:55 PM
made for angielou1 in the Sock Monkey swap R10

i mashed up her themes for "feline" and "ancient lore". Bastet (or Bast) was an ancient Egyptian cat goddess with the body of a woman.

you don't usually see her with a tail, but since that made her more monkey-like, i decided to add it. i put a few darts in to make it curl up at the end, and gave her more of a waist than a normal monkey.

walking like an Egyptian...  Smiley

galinda's face looks a little squished. i needed to draw her features larger, or further down. oh well.

i wish i had taken a picture so you can see the dolls are connected, but it was late and i forgot  Wink

17  Celtic Applique Dragon in Needlework: Completed Projects by noelle on: June 11, 2016 02:10:02 PM
made for roler in the Vikings, Pirates & Ninja Swap
i used a dobby-weave fabric for the dragon, which gives it some texture. the background is linen.
