1911  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Found or Recycled items, Wind Chime/Mobile Swap (Send outs May 18/2011) ) on: May 05, 2011 07:45:40 AM
Inspiration hit. I finally found something to use for a base-something I'd had all along and forgotten about! Last night I went from having a random assemblage of collected parts to be 80-90% done!
I still have to hang it up, make sure it actually SOUNDS good, go over the ends, and fuss over it. Heh, I went to find a way to cover it up last night, so kitty wouldn't leap up and attack it (hanging on the wall so I could work on it) and the random cardboard box I picked up was the perfect size. Sonofagun, I even have a shipping box.

I'm trying to organize my craft area. I'm setting aside a small box, and as I sort, if I come across something I don't need, I'm dropping it in. Whenever there is another round, I'll hopefully be ready!

I love my swap goodies! That apron is perfect, and I can buy loose tea right next door to where I work, inexpensively. The reusable tea bags are so clever! And the DD really likes the pads.
That apron is SO my new craft apron, so many pockets! And so cute. It'll be used as a gardening apron, too. If the rain ever stops...

I have tomorrow off, and am excited about tearing through my stash like a cyclone! Actually, my craft area already looks like a cyclone ripped through it...
Well, anyway, here's hoping for a productive crafty day!
1915  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Yummy muesli bars (with tutorial / recipe) PIC heavy! on: May 03, 2011 10:25:36 PM
Any ideas on keeping them tasty but less sugary? I'll be making them for me and the DD, but DH is diabetic so will abstain. I can use splenda. When I make dry granola I use applesauce, so I can cut down on oil and honey. But if anyone has any other tips I'd love to hear them!

Sigh, I never finished my scarf for last month. Oh, well, the fabric moved from being stash to being a WIP-that's progress, right?
And purple, for the home? I've been amassing purple fabric for a quilt for forever. And..I am so embarased to say this...My sis bought me a sewing machine, and it's still in the box. I have to unclutter big time before I can set it up and use it. Plus, I've been avoiding it because I'll have to teach myself how to sew, and I keep coming up with reasons why I'm just too busy.
But all the cute thing you all keep posting are really inspiring!

Still hunting and gathering, hope to start building soon!

I recieved from littlehajerika today! And I love love love what she made! It'll be a few days before I can post pictures-my computer is in the shop and I'm borrowing my husbands. Partner, if you want to post any pics, you can. Otherwise I should have them posted by friday.
I was spoiled!
And her package is finally on its way there, it went out today! Thanks for being patient. You were awesome to swap with.

I like this. A lot. Very well done.
1920  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Irish potato cakes, from leftover potato, quick, frugal and yummy (and veggie) on: May 02, 2011 08:25:14 PM
Oh, my mom made them just the same way! Oh so yummy! Leftover mashed potatos always became potato pancakes, and leftover baked or boiled potatos become hash browns. I think I need to make a batch of potato pancakes this week.
