7381  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One for Me, One for You Gallery on: August 07, 2008 09:45:49 PM
I somehow missed this gallery! But, I love what has been received so far. Love the action shot of Buster and his blanket. And, that apron is lovely! I like the color combo. I wouldn't cook in it, though- I'd wear it to school and carry around all of those silly things that I'm always losing (my keys, my pen) or that the kids are always losing (pencils, the pencil sharpener). I may have to make myself one after this swap is finished. I have some fantastic frog fabrics kicking around Wink

I am 2/3 of the way finished with my final assignment for my online class, so if I run out to get coffee in the morning, I should be able to finish the stupid thing early in the day. Then, once I rest my hands from typing, I can get cracking on my dolls!  Yay!

Not much worse than a puking boy! At least the hospital staff was good!

And, that's good to know that the paper won't be a problem- I'd hate for all of your hard work to get taken by a customs worker!
7384  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - SEPTEMBER (final month) on: August 07, 2008 09:13:24 PM
kyreth, great job!!!  It was so much fun to see someone pick this up and go with it even after this long.

I'm still watching you craftADDchick to see if you add more squares!!

I'm still plugging away, although I've gotten a bit off track (I had a very busy July, capped off by a back injury, so it set me behind a bit). I'm hoping to get back on track this month (I have July and August to get caught up on).

Thanks for the encouragement!

Another beautiful doll! How did you do the face? Is it printable fabric?

And, as for weather, we've been getting rain storms/showers pretty much every day. It cools things down nicely and my grass is so green!

Just checking in....sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've just moved and so things have been a bit crazed, but I am very excited! I had my partner send the undies to my parents house cause of the move so I don't know if they have gotten there yet, but I am stopping by tomorrow to check.

According to the DC#, they were delivered somewhere! I hope it was at your parents' house!

Yep, I stopped by the 'rents yesterday and there they were waiting for me, so all is good! Now all I have to do is find my craft supplies amongst all the boxes....

Yay! Your first crafting in your new house! How much fun will that be!?!?!

And I am honored that she will be crafting my undies Wink

And, on a silly side note: I reached into the dryer this morning for a pair of undies and only when I went to put them on after my shower did I realize that I had grabbed a pair of my partner's! I had washed them all before I left for my conference, and hadn't sorted and folded the dry load yet! But don't worry, I didn't wear them Wink

I'm still plugging away at (and dragging out) this CAL, so it's not dead yet! Wink

Your afghan is beautiful! I love how you used a combination of easy and challenging blocks, and I love the use of the variegated on the maple leaf block! Sometimes variegateds can be a bit overwhelming, but you seem to have hit on just the right amount to tie it all together. Nicely done!

More awesome books! Okay, I really do need to go back and make a list of them all...

Love the stamp, tote and bookmark! And, the octopus is adorable! I really do need to dig out my embroidery supplies... and re-learn how to do it Wink

*waves* hi all.

I finished up my last lot of paper today yippeeee I love this colour it is the best so far, of course it helps that it is my fav colour also.

Now to bundle up my package and maybe see if I can add to it, after all I have to pay for the post up to a certain amount so I might as well stuff that baby to the hilt. Tongue

craftADDchick don't stress take your time, sore back need to be babied.
I must be feeling for you cause mine has been playing up lately too.

Thanks, Tanza! I was a bit worried about my back last night- I had to do a bit of hustling yesterday to check out of my conference. I didn't realize the office closed up at 6. So, the sweet trolley driver dropped me off as close to my car as he could and I had to "jog" across a bit of grass (slight gravity assist). I made it to the checkout with a few minutes to spare, but felt a twinge in my back. Fortunately, after a night's rest, I feel much better!

I'm supposed to be working on my class assignment right now, but I have lessons to create and I'm just not feeling the vibe right now... But, I can't craft either! My creativity is absent at the moment. But soon!

And, I just had a horrible thought- customs won't hold up the package because the paper is handmade, will they? I hope not! I took a little book making workshop at my conference, and I totally want to make a book now!!
7390  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Moss Terrariums (picture heavy) on: August 07, 2008 07:41:54 AM
I lucked out today- I found a snail on some greens at work, I decided to relocate him to a nice little alley behind work- I found some moss growing there! Yippe. I've got a dinosaur in mine  Smiley

So sweet of you! I wonder if you could have tucked it in with the moss... what do snails eat? Guess I'll have to look that up! And, what kind of plants are in your avatar pic? Looks like a pitcher plant, almost!

I came across 2 little aliens in Santa suits that I think I might tuck in mine. I might need something else, too. I'll have to hit the store in a couple of days to see what I can find...

We find a lot of various creatures on the greens at work. I try to find homes for all of them.  Smiley  The plant is actually just a green calla lily.
Where in the world did you find alien santas!

I did the little visitor swap last summer (Al, the alien...) and his return package contained them... I think they came from one of those "gumball" machines...
