7351  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Little Odd-ball Yarn Swap - Round 2 (SIGN-UPS CLOSED) on: July 03, 2008 02:42:44 PM
Yay! Partners!

Now, all I can sing is...

"Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'...Get those yarn balls rollin'! Rollin', Rollin' Rollin' Yarn Balls! (crack of rapidly moving yarn strand...)"

Sung to the tune of "Rawhide" of course...

Nice. Smiley I'll be rolling when I get back on Sunday from going away, and so I'm sure that'll be stuck in my head now. Smiley

Cheesy

Thanks for the warning! I wonder how many rows I'll need to add? More than my usual 2 or 3?
7354  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pattern Testers for Hydra on: July 01, 2008 08:05:39 PM
I'd love to test it too!! I've been crocheting seriously for about 2 years now.

I've done at least a dozen amigurumi projects before (and tested your bunny bowling!)

A medium project would take about a week, crocheting a bit every night. It's not the crocheting, it's the weaving in and stitching together!

ETA: And, I need a project to take with me next week while I'm working on a class. I'll need a distraction in the evenings!

Oh man! A whole bunch of my favorites just got knocked off my list. Looks like I'll be learning broomstick lace after all! Now, if only I could find that yarn- only boring solid Simply Soft so far...

But, my most coveted item is still out there... Homerof2, I wonder if we covet the same item? Sigh, guess I need to get off of Craftster and make my lunch for tomorrow Wink

I'm winding yarn tomorrow, I think. I finished up  my online class work tonight (can't turn it in yet, it's too early), so I'm free to wind. I think I'll cut a piece of cardboard to 12 inches and then wrap it 30 times (if my math is right) and then wind it into a ball. Should go pretty quick!

I'll wind them all, but then wait to sort them into envelopes in case I get a special request... about how big (diameter) is a 10 yard ball? I have a bunch that a student wound for me during detention a couple of years ago (I taught my 7th grade HR how to crochet). I may be able to use up a few of those...

I'm so glad you got it and like it.  I'm sorry about one of the flowers falling off, I try to use as little glue as possible so you don't see glue...but I guess I didn't use enough.  I'm glad you could fix it.  I just use white glue, nothing special.

I didn't send any extras...but I would gladly send a postcard or something of the such if you like to get those from other states.  Ohio is pretty exciting and all...

Ohio is pretty damn special! It's where I was born! Wink Wright-Patterson AFB!

That's such a good idea to use a placemat! And, if it holds your needles, who cares if the stitching is crooked. Looks good to me!

I CAN tell you, craftADDchick, that your partner has not PMed me to say they have sent your item yet...let the torture begin!  LOL!  J/k Smiley  We all have until 7/2 to send...and that is only a few more days away this week, then we have a holiday at the end of the week, so packages will be a bit behind getting to their destinations if they have not already been sent domestically (I know international would probably not make it to the US, or vice versa, until after 7/4 for sure) they likely will not arrive until after the holiday, Saturday or Monday-Tuesday are likely on them if they are sent on time by 7/2.

Oh, that is just mean! Smiley Seriously though, I am glad to know that! I'm almost hoping for an overseas sender so it takes a little longer. I think I'll be holding my mail while I'm away next week, so the PO won't leave the package out on the porch (instead of inside the porch like the UPS guy does...) like they did today!

I do think that the package that I sent might arrive by Thursday. If not, then it should be there by Saturday, I think!
