I live in Palmer. I love to Craft. I have done a craft fair for the past two years( that if robotparade is who i think she is) and robotparade was across the way from me my first year. I fell in love with the stuff Robot Parade was selling. I would love to try to get something started out towards me, due to my not driving and there being a lot of crafters in my area.

Is there anyone close to Palmer wanting to start something up along with the NoHo group?

I love both ideas, though I'm more inclined to the inked vintage dress. That sounds like it would be a really fascinating piece.

i was going to do the dress. but I can't find the right pattern or fabric( I'm rather picky) So I went with one of Warhol's Marilyns. the background it pink and the face is yellow with red hair. I want to map it out tonight.

McCALL'S M4530 is the pattern I have, I've yet to use it but I own it.
15  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Serging? on: January 03, 2008 05:12:29 PM
I just got one and I am having so much trouble figuring it out.

Did it come with a video or DVD?  I found that really helpful when I was learning to use mine.
If not, it just takes some practice.  It's quite a bit different than sewing with a regular machine- you get a lot less room for mistakes since it cuts off the seam allowance.

It came with a tape. and the room that the VCR is in it very very cold, but Im told next week will be nicer so I will wathc it then.

Is there a theme to the show?  Are there any constraints at all on what you make?  Is it a wearable arts thing? Huh

By the way, I like your idea!
There isnt a theme, and I usually do some sort of wearable art.

I thought of another idea too
I want to get a vintage wooden frame and embroider one of Warhol's pictures on fabric and uput it in the frame.

If you can't find a pattern ,just use the pictures to disect the dress. The one with Cherry Dollface would be a good one to look at. you can see seams on it,

I was contacted tonight and asked if I wanted to be in a fiber arts show in a gallery. The woman knows I sew and wantes me to sew somthing. I am at a loss with what to do. I have until Feb.18. One  i dea i Have is to make a 1950s inspired dress and embroider the hell out of it with tattoo and horror images, all over. covering it. To kind of throw off the vintage look. But I dont know. Anyone else have an idea they would like to share with me

Oh, yes.
