141  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: VENUS zine - Interview w/ ANNA SUI on: September 07, 2006 11:40:59 AM
I read your article the other day. How cool to get to hang out with Anna Sui! I love how she likes to keep the crafts in her work-very cool. If you don't mind me asking, how did you score that interview? Great article by the way-it felt very at ease and personal-not so "interview-y", like I was listening on someones conversation.
142  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Ask Jenny - Everything You've Wanted to Know (But Were Afraid to Ask) on: September 05, 2006 10:34:25 AM
I just wanted to say thanks Jenny. I went out this week and looked high and low for both of your books, now I have Stitch It and the newest book. I dragged my sweet boyfriend out and we went on the hunt for your books. Now I have so many patterns I'm a bit overwhelmed and excited at the same time. My boyfriend's a little worried about me stitching everything I can get my hands on  Cheesy
I am pretty darned artsy myself and have tried everything including drawing, jewelry, metal craft, cross-stitching, painting...to name a few. This is so fast and easy, I love it! How great to sit down and create something cool in a short amount of time.
What do you suggest for organizing? I now have all of these little cut up iron on pieces around the house. I would like to categorize them but don't know what to put them in. What about the floss, there's many different ways of organzing floss when you go into a craft store, have you found one better than the other? The problem is I have a TINY little condo and only one closet to store things in. I wish I had a craft room but that's in another dream.

Thanks! Those are great ideas! I'll try them out this weekend and post some before and after pictures and get your opinion! Thanks so much for the help!
144  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / What to do on the back? on: August 31, 2006 09:43:23 AM
I've just finished these really cute kitchen towels for my boyfriends mother and want to give them to her for her birthday soon but I want it to look finished, like you would buy in a store. The front embroidery looks great but the back has all of the little knots and strings and looks a little messy. Is there a nice way to finish the towel? I don't have a sewing machine so nothing that's too difficult.
It's a kitchen towel that I bought in a fabric store specifically made for stitching so it has a little beige square in the middle. I was thinking about maybe hand sewing a little fabric piece to the back? Is that tacky? This is a kitchen towel so it does have to be some what sturdy. Any suggestions?
145  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Book Tour! Want me to come to your city? on: August 30, 2006 10:57:21 AM
CHICAGO CHICAGO CHICAGO     YOU MUUUUST COME TO CHICAGO! It's the "second city"! How could you miss it? People are craft crazy here-really! That's what we do in those horrible winter months! I would stay in the city-don't listen to those burb people  Wink  You'll get a lot more peeps in the city. I would shoot for either

a) Wicker Park/Bucktown-this area is hip with the younger, hip, knitting, stitching...crafty people

b) Andersonville-there's a little women's book store that's uber hip around here (I know the owners son if you want to contact her). www.womenandchildrenfirst.com

I am looking for bookstores ONLY, since you are promoting your new book but I can also look for craft places that you will be selling you book at also if you'd like.

Tongue Thanks so much for those links! I was just searching all day yesterday for cool fabric. Everytime I go to the fabric store or a specialty store for embroidery, they have that yucky think stiff stuff that's supposed to be framed.
