1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / My copy of Doodle-Stitching has arrived!! on: August 21, 2007 05:59:55 AM
I was able to find a website that has copies of Aimee Ray's book Doodle-Stitching last week.  If you are a fan of Aimee's work, or just embroidery in general I highly recommend this book.  It has great instructions for beginners, with lots clear photos showing how to do a whole bunch of stitches.  It's also chocked full of wonderful projects!  I can't wait to get started!!!  Great work Aimee Ray!!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Looking for Empire waist dress pattern, w/ puff sleeves on: June 18, 2007 12:05:16 PM
Hi everyone-
I am looking for a fairly simple empire waist dress pattern with puff sleeves.  Something along the lines of a baby-doll dress.  Any one have any suggestions?

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / DESPERATLY LOOKING FOR THIS FABRIC-please help! on: June 06, 2007 12:10:46 PM
I am trying to locate the fabric that this dress is made out of.  I believe that it came in a green & black/brown? color scheme.  Ideally that is what I am looking for.  I am pretty sure that it is an Alexander Henry print.  I have scoured the internet, with no luck.  If some one out there can help me, it would make this bride-to-be very happy. Smiley  I would like to make my bridesmaids' dresses out of it.

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / That's how Noah rolls, fo' shizzle........ on: March 29, 2007 12:37:14 PM
I embroidered this for my friend's Mo & Kate's little boy Noah.

Here he is livin' the life of a gangsta.............

No gin, just juice please......

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "Hoot-Hoot" An owl inspired piece *Image Heavy* on: February 01, 2007 08:25:09 AM
I think this will eventually become a pillow for my couch.  I plan to make another to match.  The owl was "borrowed" from a MaryInk T-shirt design.  Not sure if I am completely done with it yet....  I still think the body is missing something.  Perhaps some feathers?  If anyone has some suggestions, I would love to hear them.

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Mermaid Pillow- Thanks for the inspiration, BadBird! :) on: January 08, 2007 01:05:59 PM
This was the Christmas gift I gave to my dad and my stepmom this year.  I had so much fun making it, and they just LOVED it!!  They love anything having to do with the ocean, and the brown/purple color combo is one of my stepmom's (aka "fairy godmother's") favorites!
The moment I saw this design posted by BadBird, I knew I need to bring her to life, and then as the project evolved it just made sense to give it to two people that I knew would really appreciate it.  I would love your feedback, please let me know what you think.  Thanks for looking!   Smiley

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Introducing Sublime Stitching's newest model- Eleanor Grace on: November 19, 2006 10:49:58 AM

The onesie is cute, but the model is JUST GORGEOUS isn't she?  I am such a proud auntie!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need help with intarsia on: September 28, 2006 09:33:00 AM
I am doing something fundamentally wrong each time I attempt a new intarsia project.  I end up with holes in my knitting, where one color ends and the next one begins.  I am pretty sure that I am doing something wrong when it comes to twisting the yarn, (if that makes any sense).  How do I add colors too?  I have tried pulling the yarn across, but that just ends up distorting the imagine.  My next idea was just to tie the new color on to the one I was just knitting with, but I don't think that is quite right either.  I have literally started the same project over again close to 10 times, and still run in to the same issues.  Cry
I hope someone here can help!  11th time could be the charm!   Grin
