Another friend got married last month and I made a mini of her cake. This one was tough. It's about 1 3/4 inches tall. I tried a new technique to make the tiers more even and flat. I rolled filler clay through my pasta machine at the 9 level, then layered them until it was the right height(4 layers= 1/2 inch) Then I rolled in the white clay and traced the circle part on top then a long strip to wrap around the sides. It worked really well and I'm happy with how even and clean the tiers look. Then I added the swirls, the dots, the M L B emblem, and the "icing" at the base.
The flowers were so intricate and detailed with the colors I just chose base shades of clay then painted them afterwards with acrylic paint.

Before the flowers. The swirls took fooorever. Swirls are my least favorite thing to do. But I'm very pleased at the symmetry and even-ness of the tiers.
