1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / cat nip? on: November 09, 2004 08:31:10 AM
So I want to make some sort of little toy for my boyfriend's cat for Christmas this year (she hates me, and I'm hoping I can win her over with some cat nip) - does anyone have any idea how to go about doing this? I was thinking something along the lines of the little stuffed felt monsters, but how do I know if the felt is safe for the kitty? And I don't really understand cat nip, either. Do I just put cat nip in the toy, or something else, too? Essentially, any words of advice would help a ton, because I'm pretty clueless here.

Thanks in advance!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / trying to think of a website... help, please! on: July 05, 2004 01:44:42 PM
Okay, so there was this website I visited not too long ago, and I can't for the life of me remember what the address was! It was a pretty hip site that was selling t-shirts. The designs were ones that people could submit, were voted on, and then the ones with lots of votes were sold on the site. It was amazing, and gave me all kinds of ideas for t-shirt designs. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Help would be much appreciated!

3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Paint Swatches on: June 28, 2004 08:00:33 PM
Okay, so I'm painting my room these days, and I've been frequenting the Home Deopt near my house and trying to figure out if there's any difference between, 'Cloud', 'Cup of Cream' and 'Popcorn', and also wondering about the little swatches. They're printed on pretty high quality paper, and they come in such pretty color combinations. Does anybody have some brilliant ideas of what I could do with them? I'd be willing to ::ahem:: borrow a few more from Home Depot of the project seemed worthy. Let me know what you all think!

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / advice on dress... on: June 18, 2004 09:51:46 PM
Okay, so I was inspired to try my all-time first dress tonight, and I even did it without a pattern. I went into the ordeal fully expecting to create something horrifying, but the dress turned out surprisingly alright.
Here it is, in all its glory:

The only problem is, I used some boring ho-hum red fabric because I was planning on tossing the whole thing at the end of the night. So now I have a question: what should I do with it? It needs something to make it a little more interesting... straps? ruffles? stencil? Ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton in advance! : )
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / wire hanger mobile on: June 03, 2004 08:39:22 PM
Today I became suddenly overwhelmed with the abundance of neat pictures I have lying around my room and with the lack of space in which I have to display them. I whipped this up in a few minutes - I'll put little pictures and post cards in the clothes pins hanging at the bottom. This certainly isn't my greatest accomplishment, but I thought maybe it would spark some ideas for some of you! I think the creation of the mobile is pretty straight forward, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / skirt and halter top on: May 20, 2004 11:19:33 AM
Hi everyone! This is my very first post - go easy on me! This morning I woke up early with a hankering to sew, and this is what I made:

This skirt was inspired by Thrift Store Love's tutorial for the rockin' polka dot skirt - mine has bigger pleats because I didn't want to have to iron quite so much, hehe.

And then I made this little halter top out of two shirts that I don't really wear at all. The main shirt is a Madame Butterfly shirt that I bought at a thrift store despite the fact that it had nasty pit stains - but it was so cool! Making a halter top was the perfect pit-stain fix:

Anyhow, let me know what you think!

Bye <3

Ps I hope the pictures work! I've got my fingers crossed.
