1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / "Thank You" photo gifts? on: July 08, 2005 01:02:21 AM
I'm a wedding photographer, and I barely focus any of my energy on marketing anymore, and I was thinking that I would like to give my clients some sort of "thank you" gift after the wedding. I don't want to give thank you cards with their photo on them, really (it's overdone)... I'm looking for something more unique and different.

Any ideas? I'm up for anything!
2  California / California: South / San Diego Thrift Stores? & Art Stores on: June 09, 2005 12:58:24 PM
Where are the best thrift stores in SD? I recently moved here a few months ago and would love to find out where you guys go! As well as craft stores! Smiley Thanks!
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Sith Happens on: May 21, 2005 10:55:03 AM
I had wanted to make this before we went to go see the movie for my boyfriend, but I didn't have the time until yesterday.

I'm really happy with how it came out, except I got too excited and smudged quite a bit.
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Polaroid Transfer Book on: April 26, 2004 11:48:13 AM
Here's a part of the gifts I made my boyfriend from his birthday this past week!

This book I made entirely from scratch - with the polaroid transfers, and some regular polaroids thrown in there.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Nintendo Controller Belt on: April 26, 2004 11:42:16 AM

I made this for my boyfriend for his birthday this past week (I made him a LOT of stuff!) Cheesy

Basically you need to find the right belt, and everything else is easy. The back of the belt buckle should look like this:

It basically just "hooks" into the belt holes. I got mine at the thrift store, so I'm sure you guys can find some floating around. They aren't really that common, but I've found a few. Cheesy

Basically all I did was unscrew the back of the controller to open it up and cut the controller plug. I left all the parts inside, and closed it back up. I didn't do this, but I should've probably glued the hole where the plug was as well - so there's no hole!

I used E6000 glue to glue the belt to the controller, let it dry and that's it! Your own retro revival. Smiley
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Spa Kits! on: December 30, 2003 11:17:01 AM
It's about time that I posted what I made for Christmas gifts. Smiley

Spa kits!

Inside each kit, I added the following

Feed corn filled heating pads

Homemade Mint Bath Salts - recipe here

Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub - recipe here

Gardenia Scented Petal Soap - fake flower petals coated in soap.

Of course I had to add these

All of which were held in a record bowl.
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bag - First Sewn Project! on: December 16, 2003 04:21:32 PM
Yay! I've finally gotten around to making stuff. I just learned how to use the sewing machine recently, so I whipped up something quick. Granted, it looks kinda off cause I didn't make any sort of measurements, but here is it!
